2006 Cayenne TT exhaust options

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I have a 2006 CTT and I just installed the TechArt sport exhaust system. It gives a really nice deeper sound to the engine and when I gas it really lets you hear the turbos, the way it should have sounded from the factory. But I want it to be a little louder. I was thinking of the FabSpeed cat bypass pipes. Does anyone have any experience with these at all? I have read mixed reviews. Or do you think it would be a better idea to chip it so I have more power? Thanks for your help.

Josh,

I have a Fabspeed exhaust on my 2008 TT Cayenne and added the cat bypass pipes for the better sound and was hoping for better performance and fuel economy. As to better performance I have no way of verifying the improvement other than that provided by Fabspeed but my fuel economy improved from around 18mpg highway/12 city to 20 wpg highway/13 city. The mileage was measured over the same route of 1500 highway miles and similar load.

The sound is all out the back of the Cayenne without increased cabin noise.

Hope that helps.

Does deleting the 2nd set of catalytic converters void the warranty? Or do you know?

  • 3 months later...

FYI. I'm running Fabspeed 2nd Cat bypass pipes for a year or so on my 04 TT and still wanted it louder. I removed the muffler and had a guy fabricate straight pipes that bolts in to place (so I can put the muffler back if I like) and also used the factory tips (though, I did stick them out from under the bumper a little) and I LOVE THE SOUND. Seriously, I've had atleast 30 people (all guys) say "wow, that sounds incredible" or "what the hell does that have in it?". Great sound. And not bad at all on the highway in 6th gear.

Warning....you'll down shift at every oportunity you get.

joshdunn87, do you have a video of the sound of you car with the tech art exhaust (they have 2 model, which did you get?).

I am interest in their exchaust, but do not want any extra cabin noice, nor turn the heads of police... sitting at a corner
