Side Mirror Glass replacement

Recommended Posts

I need to change the mirror glass - I have the manual and I know what it says, but I don't know how to get the glass out without breaking it.... I feel that it will break if i pull it hard enough to unclip it....

Has anyone done this before?

Thanks,

Derek

Super easy. Just did it last week. Use a soft tool (I used a thin piece of soft wood) to get your fingers under the outside bottom edge. Apply gentle pressure (pulling out) and it will pop right out. There is an electrical connection you have to disconnect.

The new one pops right in. 5 minutes at the most...

PM me if you have any questions

Phillip

I came across this thread after performing a search for a procedure for mirror replacement on my 993. Its a good thing I wasn't in a rush...

Not that anyone said it could be used, note that this procedure cannot be used on the side mirrors of a 993.

I wrote up a short how-to for mirror replacement on a 993 which is held in place by a rotatable ring that locks the mirror in place.

That is great - please post it in the 993 section.

Thanks.
