986 Cluster Gauge Replacement

Recommended Posts

Just make sure you get the correct year for your car....97-2001 (I think?) use the same cluster (white, grey, blue plugs) 2002 and up, different cluster.

I have a 2000 base, swapped out a 99 white face.....very easy swap...just need a torx bit....the mileage is stored on your cluster, so your car will have the mileage of the new one....need to go to porsche to have your correct mileage transferred.

I think the following is just an issue with my car, because I have a 2.7 ltr, and my new cluster is from a 2.5:

cons:

- lower redline...mine had 7200....new cluster shows 6700 ( I think) (I don't think the redline actually changed...just shows it

but, stranger things have happened.....have not tested that....)

-my cruise control will only work if i turn it on before I start the car....then it works fine

Pros:

-outside temperature display is "on" on my new cluster...old one was not.

That's all I have.....very easy to do....
