Air Suspension Compressor Location

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys. I guess that means from under the car and I have to drop that skid plate which runs the entire side of the vehicle from wheel well to wheel well.

My mechanic just replaced the check valve that supposedly keeps the pressure up. Before the replacement, the compressor had a relatively quiet "purr". After the valve replacement it now has a fairly loud "buzz". I wonder if he neglected to replace some sound deadening material in there.

Again, thanks!

i am having the same issue. "loud buzz" from compressor.

is the valve replacement piece expensive? big part? i am still under warranty but my dealer said the noise was normal... but i know for a fact it is too loud as it was never like that before. i will take it back soon i think.

I do know that the compressor was not as noisy before the work was done. It's noisy enough that, on two separate occasions, two different people have asked me what is that noise. That much noise in a $90k car, to me, is unacceptable. I have a friend with a Transsyberia, and he tells me that he cannot hear his compressor.

I've had the car for exactly four weeks today. Of those four, it's been in the shop for one of them. It's scheduled for another "go" at the compressor/air suspension problems as well as "PSM FAILURE" next week. Sure doesn't speak well of Porsche's manufacturing QC.

Okay. Just replaced air compressor because car would raise super slow and workshop light came on. Now with the new compressor wont raise the car at all and light is coming on again. Guess next step will be to read the codes. Anyone have any iseas?

Okay have to post this. After a few days of driving with suspensuon workshop light on and scratching my head why suspension won't rise and lower after the new compressor was installed.... I opened the hood to put new window washing fluid and the car lowered itself alittle so I hopped into the car and pressed the switch (while freaking out) and just like that it is working fine. Don't understand why this would cause the suspension to start raising and lowering all of a sudden...
