I've got a 997.2 with PCM and iPod integration. I use an old 20gb 2nd gen iPod in the armrest, and it works great - integrates really well with the PCM. I've been using my Sony Ericsson bluetooth phone with the pcm and it works brilliantly - uploads the phonebook onto the PCM screen etc.

Now thinking about getting an iPhone 3GS, and want to use just the phone functionality via bluetooth (ie still use the old ipod to drive the music in the car) - that way don't have to plug/unplug all the time. Has anyone used the iPhone via bluetooth, and how well does it integrate? (bluetooth standards seem to vary by manufacturer so I'm loath to believe the tech specs)

My iPhone 3G works great with the 997.2 PCM. I also use an old iPod (20gb 3rd generation) in the armrest for music, with no issues once I got the cable with only the DIN and iPod connectors (no USB tang).

iPhone hooks up quickly, and loads the phone book into the PCM.

My iPhone 3GS works perfectly in my '10 CS. Same with my iPod Photo. The IPod connector require both the USB and iPod ports connected to charge the iPod.

guys

how are your contacts listed once the phone book has been uploaded into PCM?

do you have the same issue that I do (detailed elsewhere) with, contrary to the phone's settings, names being displayed "last name, first name"? :o

(or is that how your phone is/what you want?)
