Does anyone know if a CDR23 radio will work in a 1977 911S? How about a CDR-210 or 220?

What is the stock unit in a 1977 911S?

Thanks in advance.

Most radiophiles do not seem to like the whole Becker line used in modern Porsches.

I'm not sure about 77s, but it was likely a Blaupunkt. It was a Frankfurt version in my 70.

Try this site. Not cheap.

PCA best place to get expertise if originality matters.

I put a Pioneer unit in the dash of my 79 with a 6cd remote changer in the front. the head unit had a cassette player, I'm not sure anyone would want one these days, but did not have a single cd player. I've had some "mysterious Porsche issues" with the CDR23 in my 03, but nothing really serious. I find the single cd more useful on a daily basis than a changer, but a changer is good for books on a long trip. Bottom line, forget the CDR, you could not use fiber optics in your '77 anyway, and get a good traditional older style after market unit like Pioneer or Alpine. Check the Crutchfield catalog. I think your stock unit would have been a Blauplunkt model. best.....
