MY please...if it is 02+, the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump and is not normally changed.

There is a fuel filter on the left side over the engine. Part# 996 110 253 52 about $40.00. Located just beside the coolant reservoir. There is a way to lower the engine about 2 to 4 inches to give you more space. ......

jd..read this link clearly states fuel filters are only for pre-02 cars...so I do see the PN in PET,and the maintenance schedule says to replace at 60K...so I guess I'm wrong...

Strange..... Even the parts cat said 2001 to 2005 ??? And mine is a 2002 and I got one....

Thanks to everyone that responded to my querie. I learned already how to do it. but last time when i tried to lossen the 18mm bolt ,i was unsuccessful.any clue?

Maybe I should use impact torque wrench?

The only thing I can tell you, I had to used 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a 3 feet pipe over the ratchet handle and it work! The torque of these two nuts should be 85 foot pound.....

The build in the tank fuel filters (MY 02>) return less fuel system covers Carrera/Boxster M96 engines. Turbo's still had the conventional system.

Model Year...better for identifying the car specs as the purchase year could be different.

Can anyone give me some tips re getting the holder off the expansion tank. I can just about get my finger tips to the plastic clip underneath the filter. I push it up towards the filter but it doesn't seem to want to come free.

Is there an easier way ?
