Cel After Starter Install?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if after installing the starter, I now have an air leak causing the CEL. How do you deterimine the proper angle of the throttle body when bolting it back to the intake base. Also, I had a bit of a time centering the intake prior to bolting back the throttle body. One more thing, when I fire her up for the first time, the engine turns right over but revs up to about 2000 rpm's on a cold engine without ever applying any gas pedal. Is this normal to have it rev that high on the initial start? Engine at idle has a very small miss it seems because the rpm needle fluctuates very little. I may have to spring for the Durametric and go from there.

Thanks,

Check also if the brittle plastic oil filler tube is not damaged, that happens sometimes when replacing the starter.

Where do I look for any damage to the oil filler tube? Would this cause a CEL? Thanks
