Turn On On Board Computer (Obc) W?durametric Tool

Recommended Posts

I have a 2003 Boxster with a tiptronic transmission. I am using Beta Durametric 6.0 with the Enthusiast Version of the adapter.

When I connect the tool the first screen shows the tiptronic transmission and I select it. It shows two versions of the DSC/ABS and I select the 5.7 version. It shows two Instrument clusters and I select the K21.

When I attempt to enable the on board computer I receive a message that says "Could not log on to the instrument cluster"

Also I had the ABS and PSM lights come on and had an error code of 4440 and the message Steering angle sensor.

I tried the ABS/PSM 5.7 commands, calibrate steering angle sensor. I get a window that pops up saying to move the steering wheel 20 degrees left and right. When I select yes I get a message in the lower left corner of the screen; unknown operation type.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Is the vehicle running when you are doing these operations and it's best to have your laptop connected to it's A/C power source. I would email Durametric directly with these questions as they have always been very helpful to myself in the past.

The engine was running for both and I sent the same information to Durametric and have not heard back from them for over a week. That was my reason fro trying here to see if anyone had the similar issues. Thanks for the information.

Here it is the first of July and I still have the problem and no answers from Durametric.

DragonflyOH;

I have also added a four stalk switch to my 2003 Boxster-S, (6speed manual) steering column with the help of multiple DIY posts on this topic and have not been able to turn on the OBC & cruise. It says it was successful coded but it does not work. I have the Durametric Professional version 6.0.3. Did you have any success yet, I have been working with the folks at Durametric too; right now they are analyzing a log of my efforts.

No Durametric will not do that. You will need to find a shop with a PST2 or a PIWIS tester.

This should not take over 15 minutes - with one of these tools.

Where are you getting your information? According to the Durametric web site:

By popular demand, the Enthusiast kits support enabling the OBC which, technically, is a Coding option.

Excuse me the poster said "...have not been able to turn on the OBC & cruise".

The Durametric can not turn on cruise control to my knowledge and you need version 6 of Durametric to turn on OBC (with the version 6 cable).

BTW... I own Durametric, PST2 and a PIWIS tester.

I have not had any success using the Durametric in turning on OBC and I thought you had some information I was unaware of. I have version 6 with the version six cable. I read what the poster said about OBC & cruise, my cruise works fine and would like to get OBC working using the Durmetric tool. Have you used the Durametric tool to turn the OBC on or off?
