Guy's I am trying to help out a friend with an aftermarket radio install on his 1996 993 (911) TT. I was told by the dealer that when the factory radio is removed the Alarm won’t work anymore. Is this true? If so is there anything out there that can make the alarm work with the aftermarket radio?

Long story short: The alarm will just think the radio was stolen but sounds like it works fine otherwise, and you can remedy that by grounding (or ungrounding; experiment to find out I guess) a particular wire.
