How to replace rear brake light above spoiler?

Recommended Posts

I have a 2004 911 C4S; dealer wants 1 hour labor to see why rear brake light above the spolier isnt working; if I pull the caps off of the lense, will that allow me to see if bulb is blown?? Everything else works on car.

Seems like just oneside of the lense has a cover that you can remove; is there any special way that I have to remove lense??

Thanks!

IIRC there are a number of bulbs in there, not really designed for individual replacement. I ended up replacing the whole unit, ordered from Sunset. It's plastic and mine had gotten very brittle, from exposure to heat from the engine I assume.

I also replaced mine. I have a unit with LED lights for both the rear brake light and the spoiler light. They are definately brighter than the original and I highly recommend them. They are sold on an ebay site http://motors.shop.ebay.com/sportscarextras/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg

The guy who sells these items is the guy I purchased my 1999 C4 from. He used the car as a model, so I have all the items he sells. I also recommend the front bumper daytime LED lights. Really updates the car. Seems the quality of items he sells is very good. He sells the rear lights for $90.00.

Try "sportscarextras" ebay store. The website address did not copy correctly.
