Hey everyone, new to this forum and new owner of a 1999 white C4, 6 speed, cabriolet.

To all other owners of similar cars, anything i need to watch for? The car has 14K miles, is in excellent shape and was just certified by Porsche when i bought it. Has brand new rubber, mich tires, and 18" rims. Just thought i would ask fellow owners! Thanks

Look at the sticker on the drivers door and tell us what month and year the car was made. Some of the very early MY99's needed some updates. Not to worry as I have a MY99 also.

Looks like you have a partial aerokit too (front bumper, side skirts and rear fender skirts) - but no rear wing?

:welcome:

Congrats on the new car! Since you got warranty, I'd look for possible warranty covered issues

- Any creak in the top or interior? Top may need adjustment or lube.

- Any RMS oil leak, some oil may not drop to floor so you'll need to inspect it on a lift or ramp

Also consider some maintenance if they haven't been done already

- Are brake fluids flushed, needs to be done every 2 yrs

- 15k mi service done? If not, better do it soon since it's a 5 yo car eventhough the mileage is low

- Waterproof/condition the top w/ Raggtop conditioner or Porsche's conditioner (spray on)

Thank you for the replies!

I will check the door for the appropriate info as requested. I will also call the dealer and inquire about the 15K service. The only thing i have noticed so far is a whistle above the driver side windshield (or so it seems) if i go over 85 mph. And suprising enough, i do that! LOL

I will call over to my dealer where i bought it and also ask about the brakes and other items listed.

But all in all, what a outstanding ride! The speed is amazing in it! :drive:

Welcome and Congratulations! I owned a '99 C4 Coupe for four years and 48K miles. Great Car. I did have the RMS problem (3 times) and a creaky strut top bearing (there's an update for that)....all was fixed under warranty. They are a great drive and you can do all normal maintenance yourself. Just use us on this site. I added Euro M030, Aero Kit and Kinesis wheels. See my garage.
