I going to attack the clutch on my 2003 996 this weekend. I have a slight vibration in the clutch pedal. With gearbox out and clutch and pressure plate removed how do I know if the fly wheel requires replacing??? Thanks for advice.

If the surface of the flywheel is scratched or pitted then it would

need to be replaced. Also, look at the teeth of the flywheel.

If the teeth have been beat up by the starter then replace.

Do not forget to replace the throw out bearing when you have the clutch

all apart.

Paul: If it's a stock flywheel it's most likely dual mass. Do you know how to test the rotational run-out of the center section and what the spec is ?

Loren this may sound like a stupid question. I found the TSB but cant open and read the procedure!
