would rather have a shop specializing in wheel alignments do my alignment than go to the dealer. i dont know if many would agree with me. But does anyone have the proper alignment range that we should have on a mainly street driven car? car is a 2010 carrera s with pasm and limited slip diff. i dont think it has the lowered sport suspension. any assistance will be appreciated.

I found this link that has a number of alignment specs, but it seems many of them are for motorsports purposes.

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/997-gt2-gt3-forum/627816-autoquest-gavin.html

I would think the car would come set up with a good bit of rear camber and less front camber for factory understeer, but admit that I do not have any reliable information on which to base that assumption.

Believe it or not... If they let you into the shop to watch the work being performed, then SEARS AUTOMOTIVE 4 wheel alignment is the way to go!!!

It's way less expensive than any dealer and for the $100 bucks you are able to have the car aligned as many times as needed for 1 whole year! SEARS has all the specs and the proper alignment laser machine to do the job!

Hell half the time the dealer jobs out your alignment to them or other independents anyway!

Maybe you have a different Sears in Hawaii - but here I would not let those guys touch my car if they paid me.

I do generally agree with you Loren...good thing is we have a very good relationship with the local SEARS shop and that's why we have them do it.

Plus after doing my research we couldn't justify paying between $275 (Mackena's ) and $500 (BEverly Hills) dealer prices! Especially again because half the time they job (outsource) the alignment anyway.

If your lucky enough to have a PORSCHE dealer with their own laser alignment rack then go for it to protect your baby and ensure the settings are correct...but you gonna pay for it dearly.

I would like to state that we wouldn't just drive into any SEARS (no ill will intended) and hand them the keys...

Our guy(s) do an excellent job + with me watching they are sure to replace ALL the undercover screws/bolts.

BTY: This particular car discussed is located at our house in LA. In Hawaii we have other toys...

Does anyone have a recommendation for an alignment shop in the Sacramento to Modesto corridor -that is besides the dealer? I like our dealer in the Sacto area but as most of you know, his prices are steep. One of the local indies recommended Radial Tire Shop on Cottage Way (Sacto). If anyone has experience with them or anyone else in the area I would appreciate the feedback.

I hear Custom Alignment in Mt. View is outstanding but besides the 2 hour ride (for me), they appear to be closed on weekends, so it would be difficult for me to get to them - Probably gone racing.

My driving style is spirited but entirely on the street - no track time. My RR tire worn excessively on the inside 1-2" of the tread. The LR just was much better but still worn in the same area. Fronts are wearing evenly - no complaints . Car handes great - no complaints other that tire wear. I replaced the rear tires and want to get an alignment so I am not buying tires every 10K miles or so.

My Car - 2007 997 C2S Cab, PASM, sport chrono package, sport exhaust, 19" wheels.

Feedback appreciated - best regards everyone.
