Cayenne 04 V6 Stereo CDR23 NO AUDIO

My stereo CDR23 system on my Cayeene V6 2004 went silent again. I already haded replaced once. I was told from the dealer that the AMPS have a problem. after six months here we go again, same problem The display is fine the CD tracks the FM and AM display the station but no sound. I called the dealer and told me to bring it in to replace the AMP again!!! What are the chances of a second AMP going Bad!!! After an hour i did a restart and the sound was back!!!! and for the past week my stereo is playing fine with no interuption!!! Thanks in advance

Do you have PCM2?

Loren what is the PCM 2? I dont have Navigation, just a reqular deck CDR23 SINGLE CD AM/FM Player.

Porsche Communication Management 2 (PCM2) I bellive no NAV I have sporadic audio failure, this is my second AMP.

Ho Loren, what is the diference between PCM2 and PCM 2.1 Should I ask the dealer for an upgrade from PCM2 TO PCM 2.1 Am i going to get another lemon. Thanks for your help

Ok - I'm confused whether you have PCM 2 or not?

Here is the info if you do:

TSB 12/03 9110 PCM2 With Bose Sound System: Sporadic Sound Failure (dated 11-24-03) describes to your dealer what they are supposed to do to fix this problem. It involves an amp update (new different amp) AND a software update (that must be done once the new amp is installed).

Currently PCM2.1 says it is only for MY05 and newer... but you could always try.

Loren thanks for the info. I dont know what PCM I have. The only think i know is that I have a Porsche single CD/AM/FM player. Model CDR23. I dont have Navigation. I am taking it in tomorrow again, thanks for your advice. How do i find out what PCM I have.

By the way it is a Bose sound system

If you don't have NAV you don't have PCM. PCM2 (or 2.1) is the only version for Cayenne.
