Drive side door sill removal

All,

My 02 has the rear trunk switch pushed down into the rocker panel cavity (please don't ask how, just need to fix it...lol). I have a parts catalog with all drawings but cannot figure out how to remove this door sill trim piece? At each end it has barbed fasteners, I removed the two plugs facing the seat that seem to access two internal fasteners, but cannot figure what head type these are. I have attempted allen hex, star and phillips to no avail, I have nut drivers down to 6mm and it does not even fit through the plugged hole. Am I accessing the correct fasteners to remove this? Any help appreciated.

5 mm allen head bolts as I recall. Although some claim that they switched to torx in MY01.

Fixed, don't know why i didn't just keep going larger, never guessed it would be 5mm.
