Porsche PIWIS stop functioning and replaced by panasonic Tool

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Porsche Europe announced that they will stop supporting PIWS Tool model: PT1G starting January 16th 2012 and basically 3 main functions will be disabled (see attached picture).

Anybody knows if this will happen also in North America and also if is possible to downgrade the software and avoid that it will be disabled by Porsche?

I have a friend working at Porsche Switzerland and he told me that starting next week only Panasonic tools will be supported.

This change will have a big impact on the support because most of the Porsche centers recognized that the Panasonic tool is useless and not working properly like the PIWS provided by Bosh System.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The problem is that you won't be able to do anything with the PIWIS.

Porsche disabled yesterday the 3 main features from the top of the menu so it become unusable.

Anybody know if is possible to rollback the software to a previous version?

You have to go back to Version 31 of the software. I don't think you can simply re-install V31. Do you have a disk image of a pre-V31 installation? There was also a change to the computor bios in V32, and again, I don't know if it will affect things if you roll back to V32. The bios may have to be re-flashed.
