04 GT3 Carbon Ceramic Rotors on a 02 Turbo

I wanted to upgrade my 02 turbo to carbon ceramic brake system, and found a good deal on some like new 03 GT3 PCCB rotors. I realize that I need a front 6 piston calipers to run these and have a line on getting those as well. But now I am told the these may not work without modification of my existing hub, carrier etc? the guy I spoke says the turbo has different part numbers than the GT2 and GT3 and there may be fit issues with rotor rubbing either to the outside or inside pad (he did not specify). Does anyone know anything about this? if so is there a reasonable solution, shims etc that can be used to solve? Here are the front part numbers for the rotors, my car a stock 2002 996 turbo:

He is correct, the GT2 and GT3 have different suspensions and hubs. You can mount the PCCB 6 piston caliper on your normal rotors but you can't just mount the GT2/GT3 rotors.

Ok, do you know the issue? is it the caliper mount or the way the rotor seats on the wheel hub thats the issue?

Just a question: have you researched the PCCB's? Their only advantage is weight. They weigh half as much as the normal rotors...BUT and it's a big one, they don't last long at all if driven hard, they WILL NOT last the life of the car like Porsche used to claim, if you track the car often. AND... they don't have the feel from cold that the stock rotors do. Carbon rotors don't start to feel good until they're very hot, up till that point they feel kind of vague.

Now switching over to the 6 piston caliper and a 997 Turbo rotor (or Girodisc) is a worthy upgrade and if weight is a concern, trying dropping it via lighter 18" wheels. Don't go 19"... yes they fit, but the weight penalty is big and the car will not handle as well despite the forum posts that you read. Porsche had to redesign a lot of suspension components to make the 997's work well with 19" wheels, the 996 was not designed for 19" wheels. (off topic sorry)

But if you you just drive on the street, the PCCB's will last a long time, they just don't feel as good.

Yes, will be on street most of the time! took me 10 years to drive it 13K miles! so I think they will last a long time! did go to the track one time and deystroyed a good set of tires! The rotors are off a gt3 2004 and are the 350mm type, 997 for sure won't work. What might be helpful is if anyone has a picture of a 2004 gt3 front wheel hub. beacuse it's the only place that there may be an issue. I measured the eyes of the bolt holes (142mm, or just under 5 5/8 inches) and the 04 gt3 PCCB 6 piston calipers will bolt up to the upright carrier, I may need longer bolts? ? so the hub is the bottom line? maybe an issue of simply needing shims? I won't know until I get all the parts together I guess.

Did some more digging the wheel hub on my 02 turbo is part number 99734160501 (preceeded by 986-331-605-20; 996-341-605-91) which fits 02 turbo and 04 gt3, the only differnce is the gt3 has a spacer part number 99736160590. The big difference is the carrier is a total different design, bolt holes accomodate the same 6 piston setup. But. the positioning on the upright may be a bit different which explains why differnt rotor part number (differnce is the rotor hats). So my question is the hat deeper shallower, is it something that can I can use a space plate to move out? or would it need moving in? if the later I may have a problem.
