P0441 Code, Only Reaching .6 Boost?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

So I am tackling the brakes myself. I just ordered PowerStop Brake pads (hopefully they are good) and new sensors. But I still have this P0441 code, I am only reaching .6 boost, which makes me think it's a boost leak. And.... I also am leaking a couple of drops of red fluid underneath.... which could be coolant.

I was told that the coolant pipes were replaced from plastic to aluminum, so hopefully its not that... But anybody else have this problem? What could it be? Could it be two problems? Or do you think the small drops of fluid could be related to the boost leak?

Thanks,

- Reg.

Coolant could also be coming from the plastic "T"s if they weren't done at the same time as the pipes, many dealers don't do the T's at the same time. Could be Coolant Reservoir, they seem to fail at the 6~8yr point. Many coolant hose too. Where is it coming to in relation to the engine, front, rear, right, left? Also, post your year and model.

Sorry, I did not update this! It sure enough was from the rear of the motor, beyond the aluminum coolant tubes.... So this was another $2k job! Now I have this problem where I fill up with gas, start the car and it tries to start and turns off, then on the second try it starts fine and every other consecutive time it starts fine. Also my range only says 280 and usually its 400miles after filling up. p0441 and (I think-I reset it and forgot the other code) p0445 codes are on.

Your P0441 error code is most likely due to a failed purge valve, or evap control valve (same thing different naming).

Let me guess. You pull up to a gas station, and fill up, only to find that you have a few very hard starts (car having a hard time starting up), before you finally are able to start and go. After that, no problem starting until you get to a gas station again.

If that is the case, your chances of purge valve are in the upper ninety percentile close to 100.

I had same errors. Bought purge valve online, replaced myself in under couple hours (with taking picks, etc).

I created a DIY for others to follow should they have similar issue.

You can find it HERE:

Good luck and let us know how it went.
