The plastic trim ring for the ignition switch fell off, tried putting it back on but I can't get it to stay on. The ring will stay on for a very short period of time, and then fall off again. The switch itself does seem to have a little play in it, I don't know if that is normal. I wasn't able to find anything related to this subject by searching. Any suggestions?

The ignition switch itself will have a little play in it, but the trim ring should stay on.

When the trim ring is off, there is an outer bezel on the ignition cylinder (it's plastic) that you have to unscrew in order to push the cylinder back out of the dash. It's possible that is loose if you have a lot of movement in your ignition cylinder. It has a few cutouts on it that you can place a screw driver on and tap it tighter. That might tighten things up for you.

Wrinkledpants- Thanks! that was it. I just tightened that bezel with a small screwdriver and the trim piece appears to be staying on so far. All is good!
