996 Carrera 1998 - coilover advise

Hi,  

 

I have a 1998 3.4 Carrera MK1 996.  6 speed Manual.  The car has been fully restored and had subtle changes made to it including upgrading the brakes and the wheels to 19" versions. (285/30/R19)

 

I have recently changed the rear tyres on my 996 to a brand new set of PZEROs. and since doing this the passenger side rubs whenever I hit a bump or a pothole.

 

I have had the arches rolled and this has resolved the issue on everyday roads, however over the weekend I took it out on some country roads for a some spirited driving and it rubbed often so I am now looking to fit adjustable suspension to the rear in order to raise the car slightly to accomodate the larger wheels (currently you struggle to get your finger between the arch and the top of the tyre).

 

Can anyone suggest some makes and versions, and where to buy them?  Also I am not looking to spend a fortune - hopefully around £300-500 at max.

Hmmm, good luck with that :eek: I don't think there is a "good/reputable" (Bilstein, H&R, KW etc...) set of coil-overs for less than $1850.00 US unless you happen upon a really good sale. There are a few Asian companies that make c/o's that fit, but reviews are mixed... Not sure you want to gamble on your suspension, both from a safety point of view and if you've got to re-do it, you haven't saved anything - in fact you've wasted quite a bit of $... Good Luck
