Alarm Ecu with key fob replacement

Recommended Posts

Hi.

So Ive been wondering past weeks as I got central locking issue on my 986. Ive replaced both door locks but the issue is still the same my locking button inside the car doesnt work and always light red. Plus the car thinks that my driver side door are always open and wont close the window when shut... ive replaced the locks so that can not be that issue but sometimes it goes up and sometimes it wont. I read somewhere that it will be the alarm ecu box underseat. Also my key fob has horrile range. So my question is ... if I get the exact same alarm ecu box with key fob out another car. Is it going to need some special coding or will it work PaP with the new keyfob that has been working with the replacement ecu in previous car Thanks

The immobilizer under the seat is coded to your keys and the DME, it cannot simply be changed out, it requires coding with a PIWIS or PST II.
