You need to do more than listen for a "click", defective valves can still make sounds when power is applied, but did it open or close?  Sound is not going to tell you that.  We prefer to bench test these valves to make sure they are actually working.  You also need to know that any lines attached to them flow freely.

Hello old Porsche friends.
I still enjoy the forum.
silfani, there is lots of info on this exact issue.  As Loren might say, the search engine is your friend.
my similar issue was caused by mice chewing through the sensor wires that come off the very top of the fuel tank, under the battery. Takes removing lots of stuff to get to those little wires.  The sensor controls the opening of the fuel filler valve.  Check that out.
Other similar posts are out there too. Search engine time.  Good luck.

judgejon.. i really appreciate you responding to my post.. i got to the part under the battery earlier today and cleaned it up.. it seems that the electrical connector is in a good shape however i disconnected it and reconnect it.. i found a temporary fix which is disconnecting one of the 2 hoses that is connecting to the fuel tank bleeder valve ( orange / gray) and it did fix it but i am not sure if i am going to get a check engine light. just did it few minutes ago..

JFP.. thanks for your reply.. i replaced the fuel tank filler valve and didn't solve the problem.. the click that i mentioned is for the for the sensor that positioned underneath the filler valve ( see pic below) that cause the click when it is connected..
