The correct hole is already in the battery tray, but it doesn't have any threads. No problem, an M8 Rivnut to the rescue! Then the larger battery drops right in, bolts right up. I got an AGM Everstart from Walmart, and it was made in Das Vaterland!

What is/are the advantage(s) of connecting a larger battery? I have been reticent to use the recommended Optima yellow top battery due to the color of my car being Aqua Blue Metallic and not wanting to clash. Wondering if the Optima blue top or Optima red top would physically fit and not be "too big" output wise.

Battery reserve capacity are directly correlated to their size and weight (bigger and heavier, more metallic lead and lead oxide, which equals more capacity).

Long before I would be looking at an Optima, I would be considering the Odessey AGM battery line.  And yes, I was an Optima fan for many years, but after several ownership changes, we started to see brand new Optimas that were 7-8 pounds lighter than the same model they replaced, which is not a good sign.
