Any suggestions or information on hooking up my 40 GB iPod to the sound system in my 2005 Boxster S? I want to avoid the FM transmitter gizmo as it does not offer CD sould quality.

Sorry charlie, the only solution short of replacing the entrainment electronics is an in-line FM modulator. You have a MOST digital bus system, and there are no accessories out there yet for interfacing a iPod or mp3 player to the radio.

The biggest downside of the inline FM modulator interface is that you are limited to FM band frequency response and dynamic range.

But the only other variant of this available is the outboard FM transmitters which are useless in urban areas that have a lot of FM stations.

There is some hope on the horizon. There are a handlfull of companies (on the magnatude of 2) who are pursuing a MOST implementation of an iPod or other auxillary port integration. This would be applicable to just about any MOST-Bus system, which would be most beneficial to the inventor/creator of the system.

Keep an eye out, it will most likely occur within the next 12-18 months. Sorry.

Yes, Dension, with their magic icelink. The one that has been reportedly "on its way" since I've first clicked on their website in August of 2003. Yes, my name was added to their waiting list for my SAAB when GM decided to implement MOST on their new 9-3. My SAAB is sitting sobbing next to my Porsche awaiting its icelink or other non-mythical iPod integration kit.

Does Dension actually exist, or are they just a website? :beer:

Has anybody installed a Harman/Kardon drive+play system?

The webpage looks promising http://www.harmankardon.com/drive-1/default2.aspx and it seems to work also with a MOST system.

This looks even better than the IceLink which I use in another car:

- it uses the antenna input which works for any car/radio (ok, may be not as perfect as AUX In)

- it has a separate display and does not rely on the text-compatibility with the radio

- it has it's own control device and can therefore access all songs like the iPOD itself (not limited to 5 playlists like the ICeLink)

- it keeps the iPOD out of sight as you don't need to access it

- and with ~ 200$ it's (more or less) reasonably priced (especially compared to the expected 300$ for IceLink).

Is it as good as it looks on a first glance?

... ok, I bought the Drive&Play and I wanted to install it today, but.... the antenna does not fit.

The CDR24 uses a small, clickable antenna connector whereas the Drive&Play has an old fashioned antenna connector.

Does anybody know the 'name' of the new CDR24 antenna connector so that I can order an adaptor? Fakra? FME?....

When the CDR23 needed an adapter it was a EU-30, or and EU-10 and EC-20. If the CDR24 is the same then it should be the same adapter(s).

Hi Jeff, in between I also found the answer in the link you sent in another thread (CDR24 Radio Removal) :thumbup: .

ok. I'm getting closer with the installation... but now I don't find 12 V switched positive.

Usually this can be found in Chamber A Pin 7 on Becker Radios (i.e. CDR22), but on the CDR24 this does not seem to work (can it be that I slowly start to hate these new devices?)

Does anybody have the connection instructions for the CDR24?

Or another idea where I can find switched positive (terminal 15)? I tried the 12 socket in the footwell, but that one is also permanently on (30).

...ok, I just found the CDR23 diagramm (which seems to be the same as the CDR24) in this great forum and there is really no switched 12V....

I need to find it somewhere else....

Wolfgang -- have you been taking pictures and/or taking notes of how you've accomplished the Drive+Play installation. I've been researching an iPod solution for my '05 Boxster-S for the past few days, but am a beginner, and any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.
