CEL only at high RPM

Recommended Posts

Anyone have an idea what would cause a CEL at around 6250rpm almost 100% of the time. The computer logs it as a misfire in 2 and 5. Thats it. Engine feels fine during driving even then the light comes on. Doesn't feel broken, no interruption in power that I can feel. Dealer is stumped for now, has a call in with Porsche. We've already changed the spark plugs, run tekron through it so we're pretty sure it's not bad gas, bad spark, bad coils and the injectors look ok. Car is a 99 C4 Tip.

The fact that it is only happing on two cylinders (center cylinder on each side) would make me suspect coils or wires. It's not too hard hard to swap coils with another cylinder - at least that would tell you if it follows the coil. BTW... what are the fault codes?

p.s. Thanks for your latest donation!
