This new manual operated with switch change to normal sound in some velocity ranges automatically like the old one, or only change to standard sound with the switch?

And a second question:

The initial position when you started the car is standard or sport sound?

The dash switch will change the exhaust note to the standard noise produced by the standard mufflers or the full sports exhaust noise.

If the electronics are fully fitted - then there is a cutout which happens in 2nd gear at a certain speed/rpm to pass some noise testing legislation in some countries.

This can be bypassed easily to remove the automatic cutout if needed.

Or even better - you do not require the switch/electrics to be wired in - this way the exhaust is in sports mode all the time... Refer to some earlier posts.

The initial position/mode that the exhaust is in will depend on the switch on the dash - I'm pretty sure it is not a momentary switch and it also has a small lamp to indicate quiet 'standard' mode.

In a factory (or dealer) installed PSE there are two modes of operation.

First in normal operation the sport sound is on (open) except between 30-45 MPH. This cutoff is based on the speedometer A signal from the instrument cluster. My understanding is that this is a requirement for some European countries the have quiet city zones (i.e. Switzerland).

The second mode is the switch which allow the driver to close (or shut off) the sport sound at any time.

Finally, if the electronic and vacuum equipment is not installed then the sport exhaust sound will always be on.
