OK. A recent post has me confused again.

I have always thought that the TC equipped cars all came with limited slip rear ends, but now I have been told that you can have TC and not have limited slip. Is this true? I have a 7/98 build date car and have option codes 220, 222 & 224 on the under bonnet tag. Also, I have the TC switch on the console. The $100,000 question is, do I have limited slip? Also, how rare is this option? Any ideas on the percentage on MY 99 cars that were equipped this way. The link that has got me questioning all of this is here:

Just thought you may want to read all of that and see if you can make any sense of it.

Also, what does a P95 Sport Chassis indicate. Is this any different than a standard 996?

Thanks,

Pat

Yes.

M220 LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL 40 %

M222 TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM

M224 AUTOMATIC LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL

M095 SPECIAL MODEL '40 YEARS 911' was only for MY04 and was a "sportier" version of the C4S suspension.

Thanks Loren. I was preety sure that I had it, but that post mde me wonder.

  • 15 years later...

I'm a little late to this party but worth a try. I too now have a "P95" car, early build 996.1. From the snippets of info I found, this seems to be a package with LSD, active braking, sport suspension, etc. Does anyone know if this is true? My options list doesn't include 220/222/224 codes, but I do have traction control and an LSD, so I'm wondering if it's part of the P95, or if it's an aftermarket job?

P95 was only for the anniversary model in MY2004.

PM me your VIN and I can double check your car's "build" options.
