CD Changer stopped working

Recommended Posts

My 99 996 Coupe had a CR-11 (tape cassete) with the CDC-3 CD Changer.

I had a Becker TrafficPro 7820 installed today, and this works fine, but the CD changer has stopped working (it wont even eject the CDs - no power). The CR-11 was reinstalled to try and get power to the changer to at least eject the CDs, but even that wont work with the changer now.

What could the de-installation of the working CR-11 and installation of a TrafficPro done to stop the changer working?

Thank you.

Have you checked the cables at the CDC-3?

As I recall there should be 2 RCA jack cables and 1 DIN cable. Perhaps they got unplugged when someone was pulling on the radio?

These cables are usually stuffed under or behind the CDC-3.

The mounting rack with the CD changer in it has been removed and the wires checked.

Is the CD connector pin-out different for the traffic pro? Are all 3 of the sub connectors for the CD changer plugged into the radio?

The CDC-3 is plugged into the C2 and C3 connector on the TrafficPro right (per the TSB)?

Thank you, I will try these out at the weekend when I have more time (apparently I am suppose to work during the week in order to get paid!?!)
