Some Newbie 997 questions: V1 and Homelink

Recommended Posts

Picked up a 997S this past weekend and am enjoying it. It is more fun to drive than my last 996 C4S.

However, two questions:

1. Where can I find instructions to hardwire my V1 into the sunroof console area of the ceiling? In my 996, it was pretty easy. I've only found instructions for the 997 that involved actually soldering wires, which is a bit beyond my level. Is there any reason why the 996 instructions don't work with the 997?

2. What in the sam hill am I doing wrong regarding Homelink? I have a pretty common Genie rolling code garage door opener, and for the life of me, I can't get the Homelink buttons to work. I am: turning the car on; pressing the first and third Homelink buttons to clear out the buttons' memories; getting on a ladder and pushing the button in the garage door opener mechanism, to where the light blinks; pushing one of the Homelink buttons once, then twice; and, as far as I know, that should be it. But it doesn't work.

It's rather annoying, so any help would be appreciated.
