You should be comparing the voltages for the O2 sensor ahead of the TWC to those after the TWC: The voltage curve for the senor after the TWC should be a relatively straight line, the one ahead the should be a sine wave like pulse; if the voltage curves are both sine waves, the cat is toast.............

  10. I have a 2009 Cayenne base model with the V6. I'm throwing a P1073 fault. I did a smoke check of the exhaust system and found a leak that I've plugged. I replaced the bank 2 downstream O2 sensor with a Bosch OEM part but the fault has come back. I have a Durametric Enthusiast Edition and would like to test out the cat. performance with that as much as possible. My problem is that there are very few options in the live sensor tracking that have labels that clearly read like: value X before Cat. bank 2, value X after Cat. bank 2. So, I'm looking for a little coaching regarding what values I should be comparing to assess cat. function.

  12. No. Look at the other sensor code, P0341, the code for cam position sensor #1 showing an open circuit due either to harness issues (shorts, broken wires). If the sensor has an open circuit, a harness issue or possibly the sensor itself, the DME may be seeing confusing data. I would start with the open circuit code first...........
  13. Ok, thanks JFP. Does P1340 mean that it definitely has jumped timing? Is it worth replacing the cam position sensor to see if anything changes? Is it even safe to start the engine? Thanks in advance, Jerry

  19. P0341 is the code for cam position sensor #1 showing an open circuit due either to harness issues (shorts, broken wires). P1340 if for the timing chain on the same bank being out of position. Everything else are simple misfires.
  20. 1999, Carrera 4, manual, coupe, 174,000 miles. IMS and clutch replaced at 170,000 miles, Check engine light this morning. Noticed a rough idle and some initial reduced performance but once above 1500 rpms or so it runs fine. Pulled the codes when I got home, did some research and I'm really worried now. Looked for some data on the cam deviation using my Schwaben scan tool. It says Camshaft position 1 deviation 24.64 and Camshaft position 2 deviation -1.97, from what I've read these are probably not the numbers I need (or should have). Anyone that can steer me in the right direction to tackle this? I really apreciate it. Could this be as simple as replacing the camshaft position sensor? Thanks in advance, Jerry

  22. I'm only aware of the 997-618-260-08 Control module under the driver seat. If this is what you're referencing, it appears that that module is under the driver dash. That shouldn't have had any issues. There was nothing else under the seat aside from the severely corroded module I replaced. My thought was that if the motor were commanded to be in the up position for 2-3 hours until I disconnected the battery - would that have done enough damage to the motor to burn it out? Any source towards best way to open trim in rear trunk is appreciated as well. Thank you.
  23. What does the central locking/alarm/immobilizer unit under the seat look like internally, are their any signs of corrosion or water damage?
  24. So, we had a bit of a water incident in Wisconsin a few weeks ago. Significant water under seats. During incident, saw tail lights on and spoiler extended - points to water in rear control module. Long story short, dried and cleaned carpet, then replaced the rear control module. Everything is working except for the spoiler is in the up condition. I've gotten the vehicle above 75MPH for more than a few minutes. I've pressed and held and re-pressed the spoiler button a million different ways. The spoiler light button never lights up. The spoiler doesn't move. Fuse is good. Rear trunk opens. Spoiler remains stuck. I've put pressure in the up and down direction to see if the mechanism was jammed. I tend to think it isn't. There's little play but not much. Can't really backdrive that mechanism anyway from the way it appears. My next steps were to tear apart the trunk trim and get to the spoiler mechanism to check the motor. There isn't alot on the internet for this problem specifically. I have a more advanced OBDII tool but not enough to read if the car knows the spoiler is deployed or if it is working. I've got no error messages on the dash regarding the spoiler. What is my next best step? 1. Tear apart the trim and get to the spoiler mechanism - remove and test? Or test in place with external 12 V source. I'm notoriously bad with trim so I'd prefer not to break a bunch of clips/pins. I'm better when I have some idea what clips are where. It looks like the whole rear lid weater seal needs to come out. Where is a good description of how to get to this mechanism without destroying expensive parts? 2. Purchase a more Porsche-centric reader to evaluate more variables. Any suggestions or what I would be looking for? 3. Something else? Any guidance from here would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

Bonjour, Pour votre information, j'ai fait déposer la boite de vitesses pour vérifier la taille du roulement. rappel, le numéro de série de mon moteur M96/03 S AT 665 75255 et soulagement Il s'agit d'un roulement référence NSK 6305 DUA 17 donc un roulement surdimensionné et indémontable depuis l'extérieur pour un IMS renforcé avec un axe de diam 12mm.
