  1. Try 6867 or 6865
  2. You asked how overfilling could affect the CEL - I told you a possibility - I did not say you had a bad AOS. I said check the fault codes.
  3. Thanks for the instruction, I disconnected the plug, but it still show the warning sign on the dash, after went over a bump. Any ideas ? thanks again Hi, did you insulate the plug? Does the glass open when the light comes on? No, I just unpluged them and yes, the light came on. Any input please ? thanks A good dealer would check it for you anyway. Sounds like you have a lazy dealer... From the TSB: "The affected Vehicle Identification Numbers are contained in the following VIN Ranges: Model Year 2003 & 2004, US and Canadian Vehicles WP1AB29P53LA60240 to WP1AB29P03LA60890 (M.Y. 2003) Cayenne S WP1AB29P44LA60005 to WP1AB29P54LA71031 (M.Y. 2004) Cayenne S WP1AC29P54LA90028 to WP1AC29P44LA92126 (M.Y. 2004) Cayenne Turbo"
  4. A MY99 3.4 liter will take 8.98 US quarts with filter change. You can just take the filter off - pout out the contents and put it back on. The only way I can think of too much oil causing a cell is if it gets sucked into the intake (which likely means a bad Air/Oil Separator). You need to have the code read - as it may not be related to the oil overfill.
  5. Try 0349 or 0347
  6. What model year please? (so we know if it is a 3.4 liter or 3.6 liter as they are different) You need to get the fault code(s) read - there are literally hundreds of faults that turn on the CEL.
  7. :welcome: Give our Search a try... http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...ost&p=89001
  8. Try 3133 or 3131
  9. PCM 1 has the following options that can be set with a PST2 or PIWIS tester: The PCM (1) can be coded on a country-specific basis with this menu item. The following items can be set on an individual basis: - Vehicle model (LHD vehicle, RHD vehicle) - Language (driving instructions in German, English (GB/USA), French, Italian, Spanish) - Temperature (degrees C, degrees F) - Fuel consumption (1/100 km, mls/gal, mpg, km/l) - Distance (kilometres, miles) - Clock (12 hours, 24 hours) - Time zone (CET, GMT, Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Tokyo) - PCM active (active, not active) In PCM 2.x the language can be set by the owner using the display. if you yuo do not have a PCM 2 Owners Manual you can download it here.
  10. 2009 is the same as 2008.
  11. The Retail Price Search feature (for our Contributing Members) has been updated to reflect October 2008 pricing for the US (only). We try to update this on a monthly basis as the price lists come available to us. For October 2008 the price lists support: US: 223,999 parts Canada: 209,209 parts (December 2006) Thanks again to Contributing Member Porschelibrarian!
  12. Clamp off the hoses so you let as little air in the system as possible. Open the bleed valve and top up daily for next week and you should be fine. Probably a couple hours work.
  13. so it was a rattle and not a ticking.... and it did not increase in frequency i.e faster rattling or more tapping as the engine revs increased? hmmm... maybe we have a bad lifter instead? When an intermediate shaft goes it (or one of it's bearings) the car will sound like a bucket of bolts and it usually happens all at once (i.e. no warning).
  14. P0430 TWC Conversion, Bank 2 - Above Limit Possible fault cause - Oxygen sensor ahead of and after TWC exchanged - Valve lift fault - Aged oxygen sensor after TWC - TWC faulty Compare the sensor voltages side to side (bank 1 vs. the error'ed bank 2) You will need a PST2 or PIWIS to test the valve lift.
  15. Does this one (sparkplugs) work? 999.170.221.90 Just received an order from online porsche store, did they send me wrong ones? Thanks! My mistake... you said Turbo. 999.170.221.90 Spark Plugs (14 F-6) -- US MSRP $18.96 each
  16. 999.170.218.90 Spark Plugs (FGR 6 KQE) -- US MSRP $23.60 each :o 948.602.104.05 Ignition coils -- US MSRP $18.21 each
  17. I think you worry too much ;) BMW engines fail too ...and so do Jeeps and so do.... the list goes on and on. Only a small percentage of cars actually have this happen. Depending on engine speed when the bearing lets go it could just be a rattle (like a bucket of bolts) or if you the engine is at high speed then sometimes there is a bang followed by a clatter and lots of oil everywhere - but that is a rare case. If you have a warranty - that is all the more reason not to worry.
  18. No, have a look at TSB 16/08 4440Summer Tires, Wheels and Spacers -- dated Aug 22, 2008 It will explain all the "approved" sizes, widths, and offsets.
  19. P0410 Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 1 – Below Limit P1411 Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 2 – Below Limit Possible fault cause - Secondary air injection pump is not triggered - Secondary air injection pump does not work - Air supply lines restricted - Electric change-over valve does not function - Air change-over valve does not function - Vacuum system leaking Check to see if the air injection runs at cold start up and look for loose hoses.
  20. I sent you a PM.
  21. Make sure the offsets are correct.
  22. There is very little if any lubrication on the seat rails. Step 1 would be too look under the seat with a flash light and make sure they is nothing caught or binding. If you choose to remove the seat - then do so without the key in the ignition. If you remove the seat with the key in the ignition (even in the off position) you will an airbag fault light.
  23. :welcome: You can get one from any Porsche dealer. Part Number WKD 996 120 99 -- US MSRP $22.96 Chances are Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) can get it a little cheaper.
  24. :welcome: Sorry, but according to Porsche TSB 5/04 4440 Winter Tire, Wheel, & Snow Chain Applications no 16" wheel fit on Boxster S. You will need 17" or 18" wheels.
