  1. Diverter Valves and blow off valves are the same. I believe the only difference with tha Agency Power is that their blow off valves/DV is they divert the air to atmosphere as opposed to blowing back into the intake. This valves are the ones that give of the swoosh sound when you shift. I personaly like the ones that flow air back into the intake. On my other turbo charged cars I have the purge to atmosphere type BOV. Ed C.
  2. Never mind I found out the fronts are 51PSI max, rears 50PSI max.
  3. Can someone please tell me what the air preasure should be on the stock tires? My boss has an 07 or 08 with the tire preasure sensing option and is getting a low tire preasure warning. Thanks in advance for any help in getting this information. Ed C.
  4. I don't have pictures in black. But those are nice looking wheels. If it helps this is what my car looks like with HRE with black centers with polished lip.
  5. What ever you do DO NOT GO TO LA Dismantlers, these guys are bad news. I've read some real bad reviews on them. And they can be very rude. I live in Southern California and have first had knowledge of this. I've been to their yard.
  6. I also tried prying my hazard button out yesterday and it wouldn't pop off. I didn't want to break anything so I just left it alone. If any one has pictures that would be great. I need to take my cluster off because I want to get my gauges done in silver.
  7. I have an 01 as well and it does the same exact thing at start up after sitting for a few days. My car is not a daily driver so it sits for estended periods of time. I understand there was a TSB pertaining to oil starvation at start up on the early production cars. I believe you need to replace a valve by the oil tank drain plug but I am not 100% sure. Loren can you please shed some light on this subject. I hate to be causing unwanted wear when I can prevent it.
  8. I always wondered if someone out there made an alternate solution to the stock push buttons. Very nice looking.
  9. Hey is this Alex Andrey's freind?
  10. Where do you buy the mesh grills and do they make them for the stock bumpers? I noticed the one posted is of a GT2 bumper. Eventually I would like to upgrade to this style bumper but I am not at that point yet.
  11. ghghgh that is the AMP. It doesn't make sense that your technician told you the AMP is missing. Unless if your car was broken into and you didn't know it. If I was you I would start by checking all your fuses. Ed C.
  12. I didn't add new vibration plates. I've found that the brake quiet stuff works pretty good by itself. You do need to re-use the round plates that slide into the pistons in the calipers. You will know what I mean once you take the old pads out. I didn't have my rotors turned because they weren't crystalized to the point that I felt they needed to turned.
  13. Man you guys pay a lot for maintenance. I do most of the work on my car. For example I just changed the barakes on my car last week. Cost for pads both front and rear $112.00, labor $0, satisfaction of doing my own work and knowing it was done right....priceless :D
  14. Hey Alex, I replaced the pads over the weekend but haven't really had a chance to do a good test yet. My first impression is that I can't really tell any difference in braking. But like I said I really didn't drive the car that far. I will let you know if the pads helped with the dust as well as brake feel once I've driven the car more. To annswer your other questions yes I replaced the pads myself. Not much to it actually, loose lugs, jack up car, pull safety pin that holds large pin in place that holds pads on caliper, spread out calipers, pry pads off caliper, slide out old pads, carfully remove brake pad wear sensor, lightly coat new pads with brake quiet, slide new pads in and replace sensors and pins. Make sure you step on brakes before putting car back in gear. If don't do this the brake pedal will go to the floor when you step on the brakes for the first time after changing your brake pads. Not a good feeling when you step on the brakes and the pedal goes to the floor. I bought the MINTEX pads from EBS Racing. Front $72.00, Rear $40.00. I highly recomend EBS, they are a pleasure to deal with and their prizes are excellent. Ed C.
  15. I am going through the same dilema. I just purchased Mintex pads from EBS. I hope they do the job. I was told these pads will make the car brake better and will not create as much dust as stock pads. If you want I can report back to you once I have them installed and tested to see if they realy do work?
  16. Yeah I know what you mean about the image. I don't remember how mine looks but I do knpw the newer cars do have a beter look to them.
  17. I've heard that over revs on a tip are not possible is that true?
  18. If I where you I would try to listten to another 01 996TT and see if it sounds the same. A couple would be even better. Where are you loacted I own an 01 996TT tip and if you are local to Souther California I have no problem if you wanted to listten to my car. My car is coming up on 30k miles so it's about 10k miles lower than the car youare looking at but that should not be a big deal. Ed C.
  19. Does this ATF fluid apply to all TIP transmissions? I am thinking of doing this service on my car a 2001 996TT.
