  1. Hi looking to see if anyone has some pictures of the replacement procedure. How do you even get to it? Looks like the bolts are at the bottom
  2. Need to get to it from the passenger side wheel well. You need to take out the wheel, the lining and you will see the alternator and the hoses going in and out. The coupler is usually the culprit and often the o-ring but since the coupler is plastic, it can crack.
  3. I'm sure by now you have fixed it but for others searching, this sounds like the Alternator Coolant leak problem. You need to open the wheel well liner and you will see the adapters connected to the alternator (there is one for in and one for out). You should really drain the radiator before you start the repair. It could get messy.
  4. Haven't heard from anyone. I glued the one that was almost intact and cleaned it up a bit. It wasn't brittle, so I reused it hoping that I put it back in the correct way. I threw away the one that was in pieces as I could not find the replacement filter. Hopefully it will not cause problems. One thing I noticed is that when I blew into the rubber hose for the one that I did not get an error code for, I was able to get some air through but not when sucking the air out, however, for the other one I could not get any air through either way. I am going to go under the car next week and open up the valve and try to clean it up. Does anyone know for sure if the air should flow if you blow into the rubber hose? It makes sense to be able to push air out but not the other way around.
  5. Hi all, I have read multiple threads on this but my question is a bit unique. This code came up on my 04 S (128K Miles). I cleared it and it came back a few days later. The fuses all check out, the blades are in perfect condition, not debris that I can see. However, the filter (sponges) on the driver side is pretty torn up and it was a bit jammed together when I took the cover off. I opened the other side and although it was not as bad, it was a bit torn too. Here are my questions: 1. How are the filters supposed to sit inside the housing? They seem to be half circular so they can sit in various positions. 2. Are there replacements for them? Part number please. 3. I read in some other forums that one should just discard them as they serve very little purpose unless you are driving in a dusty place. Mine don't look that dirty after 20 years. Maybe some spots but not bad. Any experts that can opine on this? Thanks in advanced for your thoughts and hope your are enjoying your holidays.
