I have the same problem. I got it with this problem. So I had pulled the fuse the other day and saw it was burnt. I bought some new ones and the first time I plugged the new one in, the lights worked after. I already had the key in but it was not on (it also does not recognize when the drivers side door is on). I can not remember if the lights came on right away when I put the fuse in or if i had to turn the key. They worked just fine while I was doing a few things in the car and then I took the key out and put it back in and the fuse blew instantly. I just checked the vanity mirror real quick on the passenger side, just in case, and there seems to be no light on it. I went back to look at it tonight and put the key in and put a fuse in and it sparked and instantly blew. I tried turning everything off and doing it but blew a few fuses and ran out. Any help or guidance with this? Also, one other thing I noticed while the lights were working. They turned off and I had them come back on a few times and I noticed the rear passenger reading light came on dim and flickering. I then touched/slid the overhead map light switch in the front middle there, and the rear light came to full power. I am wondering if that switch in there is having the melting problem everyone has reported. I inquired to sunset about the repair kit. Any help or tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 2004 Cayenne S. I just got it recently, interior lights have never worked. I checked the fuse and it was blown. It calls for a 20 amp fuse but the blown one in it was a 25 amp. I had the key in the ignition if I remember correctly and put the new 20 amp fuse in and everything came on. Side note, I noticed a weird glitch with the light above the rear passenger side door and the switch on the main map reading light. The interior lights had gone off and I turned the back on and the backlight above to passenger side door was very dim. I slid the switch on the overhead console for the main map light and the rear light came back to full strength. I found that odd. Everything then worked fine. I took the key out. Next time I put the key in, immediately heard the fuse blow. Any ideas on where to start?
