  1. As indicated by JFP, further diagnostics are needed. There's an electronic system between the ignition switch and the starter motor that requires a signal to determine whether the engine is running or not, this is likely the source of the problem. The starter motor will continue run for about six seconds, even after releasing the ignition key, if this signal is missing. This can be tested by: running the engine, removing the fuel pump fuses and allowing the engine to stall on its own, restarting the engine, and releasing the ignition key just as the starter motor engages. You'll that the starter motor will run for about six seconds, and then stop due to the lack of a signal. Hope it helps a bit.
  2. Non, push down with one hand, squeeze the ribbed bottom ring with the other hand and pull up, this is not as easy as it looks, succes.
  3. Slide (15) holds the fuse holder (14) and wiring in bracket (13).
  4. Vibration/resonance dampers together with the bevelled edges of the brake lining, squeaking noises are prevented.
  5. Isn't the system programmed for Km/h instead of miles?
  6. This is a cooling water channel, the cover is secured with four bolts. The metal seal between housing and cover is leaking and needs to be replaced, this occurs regularly. The work is easy to do, drain cooling water, clean the edges of the housing and cover, replace the metal seal, refill cooling water. Please note, to avoid filling and venting problems cooling water must be refilled with a vacuum device, this is very important to avoid an overheated and therefore defected engine.
  7. I looked in to my notes regarding 996/986, ABS/TC is a combi system. Perform a throttle valve cleaning inclusief the electric connector and check the wiring, it may sound weird but the throttle body is part of the TC system and too much resistance mechanical/electrical could cause such a problem. Let us know your findings.
  8. 035 amp is way too much, 0035 amp looks better with the system in sleep mode. So there is a consumer/control box somewhere that does not go into sleep mode or wakes up now and then. This will probably the cause of the ABS/TC problem.
  9. It looks like cooling water loss, there must been a big leak in the circuit. Low oil level is separate from this but must be brought up to level asap.
  10. You need a PIWIS diagnostic device to see which/when modules are being woken up, possibly also to detect CAN-BUS errors.
  11. If the car has a Tiptronic gearbox, an internal eak from the cooler can cause this phenomenon. Check the ATF oil for intermix with cooling water, the gearbox can be destroyed in a short time.
  12. These flaps are on the hinge mechanism, left and right,of the clamshell to protect the convertible top from friction damage when driving top down.
  13. Take the car and all associated keys to a Porsche dealer, he can synchronize them with the help of a PIWIS diagnostic device.
  14. Maybe a small drop of oil on the hinges and pivots will help.
