Hey everyone, Working away on a 2009 Cayenne S - CEL not on, but code "3505" scanned with durametric with no description. other modules such as TIP / PSM have "1341" Codes refering to check the DME Any tips appreciated Cheers!   5. any ideas as to the proper use. i noticed a "991" stamped in it. its described as a "templat" thanks :)

  7. looks like i can see right into the four large holes/pins and i can see the internal wiring of the connectors so it doesn't appear to fibre optic. could this be a cup car connector? d.

  10. Sprint boosters normally just plug in between the gas pedal and the connector, some versions have an extra wired switch that you can mount to a remote location ie near the steering column. I would think most "enthusiasts" can definately handle the install. most people seem to like it / if the vehicle is shared with ie. your wife the switched version allows you to turn it on/off. cheers

  12. 90 mph is a decent clip, assuming your vehicle is road safe and does not have loose suspension bits, tires, pressures, alignment and shocks come to mind.

  15. crazed? foggy/dull/milky? i believe 3M has a headlight restore kit, includes stuff like sanding discs, polishing wheel and polish

The last time I saw paper towels sucked into an engine and cause no start and missfires... the method i saw to solve that issue at the time was to fill the chambers with something like break cleaner and set fire to it. Once everything turned to ash it easily blew out the tailpipe.. this is a story about a method that worked but i might not recommend it... all the best...
  17. we successfully use the bosch ones in the yellow box available from many aftermarket parts suppliers
  18. over the years i have replaced plenty of faulty OEM DV valves on both tuned and stock turbo models. usually cause a air injection fault. the billet ones are usually pretty solid but can wear out or require some lube occasionally. i would reccomend these on a tuned car... my .02 cents
  19. if your battery is disconnected on a twin turbo or a c4s with out a certain amount of fuel in the tank you need it re calibrated.... it is a quick thing but you need a scanner such as piwis to be able to do this. once the fuel goes below a certain amount because of the saddle tank design the fuel gauge works on fictional readings. the tank be full but the gauge will only display about a 1/4 tank full.. Also by the top of the filler neck there is a little cylindrical magnet type sensor with a wire. it is up in behind the wheel liner, if this is disconnected or incorrectly installed this will cause filling issues
  20. i might suspect a maf... they often fail without triggering a cel... i noticed you may have consider replacing o2's.. they are at the end of thechain as monitors and alering fuel trim.. mixture problems are often triggered further upstream ie. maf...intake leaks... if, you have taken care of vacuum leaks tb cleaning etc... you can see my recent post about a 996tt... http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/38776-high-idle/ best of luck
  21. 2001 996TT Complaint: CEL on... Code stored p0507 - noticed occasional high idle and the odd sputter on W.O.T. accell... Diagnostic work flow.... piwis - fail... hardly any actual values shown on this model - durametric beat it with values hands down.. Check for vacuum leaks with smoke machine.... none, clean and re-adapt tbody (KOEO 60s) Problem still persists. The throttle valves hardly fail and we all know the bosch MAF's are sh!t so I put one in. the kg's per sec went up from 14-15 to 17-19 and the actual throttle opening percent went from 2.7 down to 1.7 All at operating temp at idle. btw the car also reaches 200km in half the distance with a new maf :P Hopefully this might help someone.   22. ok thanks, oil is fresh, didnt think to keep a sample.... next time. I have a sender on the way to try. either way at least ill have a known good test unit... cheers.
  23. 2009 997.2 DFI PDK Oil pressure reads 1 bar at idle - occasional warning for oil pressure when high temps reached..... I noticed it has a new style sender thats on the back of the oil filter housing.... I know the older ones are prone to failure. Vehicle is low mileage with clean history Any recommendations?
