  1. I have the same problem with a 99 Cab. I have replaced everything. Talked to a Porsche dealer and was told it is my steering column. The other thing that happens is my horn will start honking when the car is turned off and the wheel is at a certain angle. Don't know the cost of a new steering column -- but I don't use the cruise that often anyway. Has anyone had this problem????? Thanks,
  2. I am thinking about some changes in my exhaust system also ---- what are SIMMS???? Thanks, [

  10. Just look up the DIY forms and do it yourself --- I did mine and had my cylinder rebuilt. Saved a lot ---thanks to this site. If you need help --- there are numerous people who have done what you are looking into ... Good luck and welcome. Chuck -- Myrtle Beach, SC
  11. Instead of replacing the whole back section. Go a interior -- top shop and ask about redoing the bolsters. I had mine done --- drivers side bolster and bottom bolster for $100 per section -- total $200. They had to remove seat - take apart and resew those sections. I have Graphice Grey - Supple Leather and it came out great. I tried Leatheriqe dye and kit --- what a rip-off and no customer support -- Don't use Leatherique and that cost me $98.00 - so the $200. for a great job was a better buy. The match in leather was perfect. Good luck. Chuck --- Myrtle Beach
  12. Thanks for the responses. I have read the FAQ -- thus the question. What is Langka??? Thanks, Chuck
  13. Good afternoon, Has anyone used Dr. Chip for touch up paint? I had the defuser -- plastic cover over my garage lights fall off and gouged my right fender -- top of fender. I have tried the normal touch up paint -- still looks bad. I have taken into a Body Shop and they wanted $350. to paint the front fender -- they said they can't do much better than I have. One problem is the car is Artic Silver a very hard color to blend. Any help is appreciated. Chuck --- Myrtle Beach
  14. Just what you need for your drive to Wal Mart. Chuck
  15. Good Morning --- Has any one used one of the internet top suppliers to purchase a top then have a local installer put it on? I have a local guy lined up and can save quite a few bucks buying direct from the top manufacturer. Has anyone used German Auto Tops Inc. ? Any help is appreciated -- the car iis a 1999 Cab - the top is in good shape but the back window is seperating at the top. The cost to remove and sew is the same as installing a new top -- so might as well replace a ten year old top. Thanks, Chuck
  16. Don't go to Leatherique.... Got screwed big time --- real ripe off company. Just my warning for very bad experience and no customer support. Bottom line cost me 10 or 20 times more after using there product. Chuck Ottwell
  17. Thanks --- as I said I need mine done. A shop here quoted me $400. and told me the best time to do it is the heat of summer. I think I would go with the darkest tint they had. Good luck, Chuck
  18. Pat, I think that flap deflects water when the top is up. Don't think it is absolutly necessary -- as there are drains on each side. Chuck

  22. I did follow the above procedure. When using the rear of the engine point is when I experenced the hydraulic fluid. How much fluid does the motor mounts hold???? Has this happened to any one else???????? Thanks, Chuck
  23. In the process of a brake job --- tried putting a floorjack under back area of the engine. A solid area -- jacked up a little and noticed oil leaking out of what appears to be left motor mount. Lowered the car and found new jacking point. Oil quit leaking. Did I do much damage????? Everything looks ok when engine running. Thanks, Chuck in Myrtle Beach
