  1. That is very nice of ondafly. If U do meet up with ondafly, first thing I would do is swap the alarm module with his,,,
  2. try to locate that bowden cable inside the front left fender, might want to steer all the way to the right. or a cigg lighter booster may work to just unlock
  3. Sure any professional shop should be able to but its going to be $$$,,,or U CAN do it! it isn't that complicated. power up the HU/run the power cable,RCA,remote on for your new amp/existing speaker wires sliced/ DONE
  4. plenty of slack on that cable, jerk/pull it a bit harder,,,if not prolly broken
  5. generic china brand? ;) Yes U can put it in your 986. I have no idea how your console looks but usually takes a bit of re-arrangement loose the wiring hardness unless it is for a porsche? U can either hard wire it or get a metra the most sys is gonna be extremely difficult to work with,,,most likely U would have to get rid of it
  6. As U mentioned, pull the grill/speakers out. I would prolly swap the speakers,,, could be a blown speaker. rusty lugs needs to be replaced? PM me
  7. There are 3 TPC kits available for the 986. There is a kit available for the 2.5, 2.7, and 3.2 The 2.7L Kit is basically identical to the 2.5L with a few necessary changes. The 2.7L 986s require a set of early style headers to function properly. These headers are included with the 2.7L Kits. Check into a set of high-capacity three-way catalytic converters too. These units are supposed to yield an 18 HP increase,,,
  8. with a new HU,MOST gotta go. I would consider getting a mosfet 4CH amp with built in x-overs. HU can drive the dash, 4Ch amp can power up the doors/subs,,,
  9. I do it for a few minutes. having a tip, she shifts much better when its warmed up,,
  10. No DEX-cool please,,, there is a dexcool related class action law suit against GM/TEXACO DEXCOOL. Since it was formulated without the addition of silicates (the corrosion inhibitors in green antifreeze) a different corrosion inhibitor strategy was needed. Organic Acid Technology or OAT is the inhibitor part of dex-cool. Unfortunately, the dex-cool is capable a rather nasty breakdown. The residue it leaves behind is very sticky, and likes to find areas in the engine and other areas to "drop out" or "fall out " of solution and stick to the wall surface of engine and radiator. In many cases, the orange mud hardens, and seems to expand or push the gasketed surfaces out of position, causing leaks. My Chevy 3.4was filled with DEXcool for a couple of years,,,and the result was waisting 4 precious HRS(just hate to work on a chevy)last Sat day for complete tear down The Porsche dealership told me to remove the drain plug on the bottom to drain all the liquid. Put the plug back and then re-fill the coolant. The dealership did not mention anything about using a vacuum system to do the job. I will find an independent place to have this done. Also DEX-COOL (orange color) is OK? Thanks.

  13. OEM amp doesn't have a RCA input jack, only equipped w/ speaker level input,,, I believe
  14. roughly about $700 + a few HRs of labor. Yes it is possible to have just exterior auto dimming mirrors. Pionner Avic series is not too bad. this might be able to help some,,, http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...c=20578&hl=
  15. "The central locking button on the dash has also stopped working" possibly you got a blown fuse on the alarm module. Also a faulty door micro switch could cause the alarm to act up like that,,,
  16. remove the windshield then a good auto upholstery shop can fix it.
  17. summer tires F 205/50/17 55mm R 255/40/17 50mm looks like 3mm is gonna barely stick out,,, they will fit fine
  18. classic tire flat spot symptom,,, when I had my Kumho they used to vibrate horribly for roughly 20 minutes. We've been getting mass snow in seattle I just move my car back and forth frequently,,,
