  1. Hmm, it does smell like burnt plastic, I will check out the wiring, thanks for that suggestion. THe weird thing is that the smell comes in through the ventilation system...
  2. Thanks Henry. I don't think it's clutch slippage, I am very careful with the clutch, and this has just started happening after two years of ownership. I still can't figure it our, it happened again yesterday after pushing the car on the freeway... :(
  3. Hmm, that's a thought, but would the clutch burn even if I am not using it much? The other day it started smelling as I was going down hill in second gear, around 3-4K RPM, not really on the gas, and not shifting...
  4. I've notice a burning smell occasionally, it seems to come in through the ventilation system when I push the car a little. Is smells like burnt plastic, and seems to occur after the engine has been running at high revs. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any hints...? Thanks a lot, David
  5. i was going to say, i had the same problem. tips were not fitted properly and rattled against the exhaust tubing...
  6. Hahahah, the larger one fits on the bottom then. I spent almost an hour trying to fit a square peg into a round hole Sat night, as the instructions read "make sure you get the right size into the right spot..." Anyways, it worked well the other way, it may be worth updating the DIY sheet.
  7. Loren, in the rear brake DIY, do the instructions incorrectly state that the 30mm vibration damper should be in inserted in the top piston, or am i just misunderstanding where the top piston is (I assumed the top piston was the piston located near the top of the caliper). Thanks in advance... David
  8. This happened to mine and i had the radio replaced under the Porsche 4/50K warranty.
  9. I had some squeeking in the wheel, and the dealer solved it in two seconds with a little lubricant :)
  10. I don't have a manual ! :( How do you turn those on?
  11. I've got a question related to this topic: I have a '99 C2, and the lights on the interior section of the front headlight assembly right above the turn signal (smallish square lights) don't appear to work. The headlights and highbeams otherwise work fine, but I was wondering what the function of these lights was, as there is a bulb in there. Are these the litronics...? Thanks David
  12. Jeff, I will need to invest the $100 or so in a dvd player. How do I order the DVDs, I remember seeing a post, but couldn't find that info again...? Thanks David
  13. Jeff, I completed the OBC hack last night, I was finally able to remove the oval sleeve around the hazard switch. Thing is, when you're not sure, you hate to pull on anything too hard, for fear of breaking something. Anyways, the rest of the instructions were pretty clear, and the switch seems to work pretty well. Now i just need to replace the hazard switch I broke the other day. It's on order ;) Thanks again for your help and patience. Next project will be the B&M shifter I think :) David
