  1. Bare with me :) How does the clutch pedal feel? B
  2. All correct!! Cool part: we now have a 6 spring centered SACHS disc to match up to our LWFW :) And the stocker! B
  3. The clones are on ebay :) Typically they run 6-7k and are built on IBM laptops. I'm working on buying a KTS from Bosch that looks just like the PIWIS but does not ship with the Porsche software. It ships with Mercedes/BMW/Audi/VW on it, but no Porsche :( I believe the Porsche software can be installed on it :) HUm.. looks a lot like a PIWIS  but it is GREEN (retina burning Bosch Green) and oh, by the way, it is about 10k less than the Porsche PIWIS :) B
  4. You did great!! The first thing that impressed me: you ASKED for the torque specs. I forget that not *everyone* has been doing this for the 22 years like I have :( Feel free to PM me anytime you have an issue (or post here) :) B
  5. 100's and 100's We have seen your TT transmission since 1987. The differences between your TT box and the first G50 in the 911 are VERY minimal. Go to PET and pull up both trannies and count up ALL the parts they currently share or that have been superceded on the G50 to 996 parts number. Take note of ALL the 950 part numbers and 928 part numbers. If you don't recognize that list of names and what they have done tranny wise, you are not qualified to hold this argument. Brian is the Porsche Motorsports tranny builder for the USA (all IMSA Challenge tranny's) The others.. well.. you'll figure it out :) B
  6. Let me know when you are done downloading it. I'll change the name to something dumb so Google doesn't pick it up on my Cayman site :) I'm looking for a parts breaker in the UK who may have Boxster parts. I want to convert my Boxster race car to right hand drive and I need a dash :) B
  7. The torque is based on the size of the bolt. The number 2 bolt in your pic is the M14 bolt 118lb ft (BIG) and is listed in my POSES screen shot as "Corner Plate on body WITH diagonal arm and side member" The number 1 bolt in your pic is the M12 bolt 74lb ft and is listed in my POSES screen shot as "Corner Plate on body" I honestly cannot see how I could have been more clear The problem I see: you don't know your bolt sizing :( If you had known which one was the M14, your could have worked out the rest. B
  8. It's going slow. I had 997/S on an 8gig memory stick/thumbdrive. B
  9. Oh.. I'm supposed to tell you that the guidelines for this site do not allow us to share copyrighted material :) But.. If a link appears for you to download said material... then disappears abruptly.. we are OK! Be back B
  10. I am looking for it.. all I have is 07-08-09 GT3Cup and GT3RSR. I'm also looking through my factory software (POSES) I cannot give you POSES, but I can look up everything up to 2007 in it. I need to let it go online and update :( Hang on. B
  11. The factory manuals for you car will tell you how to perform the tests :) Tell me what you want to do and I'll tell you how to get there :) B
  12. Sorry Bruce :) Yes. Run it. We remove our fans from the 996+986 race cars when we add the 3rd radiator (and no factory race car came with fans) I have tested an idling car on an 85degree day with 3rd installed and NO fans. The car could sit for upwards of 25minutes before it started past the 210 mark. The minute I drove it away (no fans) it dropped below the 180 mark in less than 300 feet at 30mph. Not only is it a capacity increase as Loren mentioned, it also radiates (it is a radiator after all) a LOT of heat :) Lorens writeup is EXCELLENT!! I can do them at the track in about 20min total before I start putting coolant in :) B
  13. Loren has it here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?a...p;showfile=1399 and you should be able to download it is since you are a "contributing member" B
  14. I have it. Hang on. Stay with me. I'll put it somewhere that you can download it. It may be on this site also in the downloads area. B
  15. Those of us rebuilding your tranny. Right now in the USA, you have about 15 or so shops (not dealers) actually cracking into these boxes and fixing them. Maybe 15 :) and not just replacing them with an OEM replacement box. None of this is news. Call your favorite shop. Ask them who their favorite wholesale sales person is and give them a call. Ask them who they are selling tranny parts to and get their contact info and call them. You will find the list VERY short. My internet rumors start with real world experience (personal hands on) then before I say anything in public, I talk to other shop owners all around the USA to see what they are finding :) If more than 5 shops find EXACTLY the same things I'm seeing.... and a pattern starts to emerge... public I go. It starts with knowing who works on what :) Want tranny info from PRO's? I start here: Brian Copans Gordon Leadbetter Bobby Hart Gary Fairbanks Tom Conway B
  16. Then call me when you are ready to lose the weight associated with the front drive setup :) B
  17. Yep :) He has done a lot for the 914 aftermarket. Ask him one day how he funded his GT flares for the 914's. B
  18. Interesting :) I didn't know they removed the procedure!! B
  19. Correct :) happens in all Porsche's. Most people just don't notice! B
  20. I knew what you meant by Boomerang :) but couldn't recall the numbers myself :) B
  21. Just so happens, I have been involved with some of the fastest 914 track and AutoX cars in the USA :) B
  22. Easy now. That title is taken by a well know fellow in Hotlanta :) I claim to know nothing. Easier coming off as dumb than smart :) B
  23. 99.9% of the shops buy/use the Aasco flywheel. Very few even know about the others. You are standing a good chance it is the Aasco. They are the only light flywheel sold by the wholesalers that provide the shops with their parts. Motul gear lube will quiet it down (don't expect miracles) :) B
