  1. Thanks Loren, BTW I nfind two pn's for the C4S, 4450038 I believe is the x73 445003X is just the euro 20mm lowering kit I think.
  2. Loren, I'm game, how much of a bear is the ball joint?
  3. Loren, is this a potential DIY job. Looks like a simple bolt on/off the preassembled shock/spring then get it aligned?
  4. Like WD, mine usues a qt every 1000 mi like clockwork, long trips hardly any, track a qt. have the dealer document the loss on the svc record.
  5. Get the car, you can't hurt it in 400miles, those cars are tough SOB's let me tell you. I regularly drive mine 250 mi/wk, monthly track outings, 30k miles. Zero problems, best car I'v ever had.
  6. Don't bleed it dry, you'll f up the ABS system. When your fluid boils, the sensors will melt and set off brake check lights, just pack up and go home at that point.
  7. Yeah Lime Rock is actually 84dB this year. The airbox will make your car 10% louder, adds minimal hp, the bmc should have no effect. I run GHL quiet mufflers on mine, louder than staock, but not as bad as pse.
  8. Simple, easy bolt/snap on, 5min. Will add more downforce, a must with a rear spoiler on a C4S.
  9. Both are good daily drivers, C4S gets the nod in crappy weather. I drive mine every day, love it
  10. A guy with a my99 car had that, he eventually siliconed it on.
  11. I tightened them, but they could have loosened. I don't recall, I think you did send them, but they were'nt that detailed.
  12. Loren, I recently removed an aftermarket fixed spoiler that replaced the stock retractable unit. I re-installed the stock unit w/o incident, initially it deployed fine. Now, it is slightly uneven when it comes up, I did find one of the bolts had loosened at the base of the mechanism attachment to the lid. After tightening it down, it is better, but still slightly crooked. What can I do short of disasembling the entire mechanism, which is a PIA. Chris
  13. I bought them from a porsche shop, they overcharged me a little. Try Eli from Pelican he sells their stuff now, I'm sure he would honor that price.
  14. I don't think you can use the factory tool on a BM or porsche SSK, won't fit the tower.
  15. Here's another question, I just called my dealer after reading your post, he says that the C4S uses the same wire as any other non TT car, I always thought it used the same as the TT?
  16. Recently did a track day, the pad wear light came on after heavy breaking, and basically has stayed on. The car stops fine, no noise. I'm planning on switching the pads out this wknd, should I also change the sensor wires?
  17. Cool, my brother, DJ996, is coming in town next wknd, guess what he's gonna help me with!
  18. Loren, Quick question, I'm about to do brake pad replacements on my '03 C4S, I'm familiar with the C2 technique. Is it the same? Chris
  19. The fabspeed prob add some hp, the pse zero, as it is nothing more than a pipe welded btwn the inlet/outlet. How could it add any power. I have GHL's on mine sound great, not too loud, not quite, just right.
  20. Sounds plausible, any way to treat it? WD 40 spray job?
  21. I replaced my pads about two months ago, I drove it daily this winter with snow tires (sig more sand/salt used in my area this yr). When the car is wet and esp cold outside I can hear a dragging sound from the Rt front, stops after a minute or two, I attributed it to alot of surface rust on the rotor after being wet/snow/ice. I washed the car on Sat., I noticed that the rotor seemed to be frozen momentarily when I went to move yhe car on sunday, now there was a fair amount of crud on the rotor from the prev wash, just seemed weird. I got a good look at it yesterday, pads have plenty of meat left, just surface corrosion or brake dust buildup I guess? Any ideas?
  22. Eventually I plan to upgrade to a x73, someday. In the interim I came across some RoW C4S springs, they say they will lower my car 10mm or so, is there any downside to putting these in? Do I need to change out the shocks/struts as well, if that's the case I'll just wait?
