  1. You can get them rebuild if the casting is not damaged or get some used ones on Ebay ??? Rebuild kits left turbo Right turbo
  2. I am looking for a good tool to test the fuel pressure at the connection besides the fuel filter. I know the Porsche adaptor number is 9559 and the gauge is P378A . Is there something similar, less expensive, but of a good quality that I can found. Remember there is a valve under the cap besides the fuel filter and the adaptor got a plunger that depress this valves when installed. Thanks a lot for the info. J.P. for info, only the hose Porsche part# 00072195590 is $148.75 I think the adaptor needed for the port has to be M12X1.5.
  3. This is interesting. I'm ready the adjustment and I am confused. Was it hard to adjust? "- Release switch by turning it 90° and pull it out of the installation opening. - Pull operating plunger out of the switch as far as it will go. - Reinstall the switch." Confusing, isn't it!
  4. Whistling was coming from the steering pump due to low level. Transfer of fluid from steering reservoir to clutch reservoir is due to a faulty slave. But I don't see why the spoiler can be part of your problem. I think it is a complete different story...
  5. Hello Frank! If you use "drive link" you can select any of these solenoids (4 total) and in idle you should see the engine rumbling when one of the solenoid is selected. If there is no change in RPM either while selecting the valve opening solenoids or the cam advance solenoids, then you know one of the solenoid is not working.... This is the Durametric version 5 but I also saw it in version 6... Hi JP So its just a case of select the desired valve and if its working the engine should change rpm's/rumble. I was going to have a play last week but decided not to experiment with any of the drive links I'm not sure about. Thats great, thanks mate. Frank You got it Frank! Of course I would not try it at high RPM but at idle you definitively see a difference once selected and start button depress....

  9. Good info here: Alternator..... It is a common issue with the alternator. If you have time to try a simple regulator replacement you can used the DIY here: Regulator. And the alternator removal DIY: Alternator DIY The part# for the alternator is 997-603-012-01, alternate look here: Part# and for the regulator is F 00M 145 350...
  10. Just replace it. It cost only $41.00 and you already got the DIY on Pelican tech forum. After you got yourself a spare alternator.... Part# F 00M 145 350 Just found out you can get this part for as low as $13.85 ?????
  11. Dus10R Let's figure that out. On a four stroke engine you got a spark every 2 revolution of crankshaft. Means 6 cylinders = 3 spark per revolution of crankshaft , So 364 divided by 3= 121.33333.... So we had 121.3 revolution of crankshaft over 6750 RPM. So if I got 6750 revolution in one minute that means 112.5 revolution in one second ! Do you agree with me while I am thinking loud ;-) If not please don't hesitate to correct me. But because we are in overev situation , may be 6800 or worst 7000! This condition last less than 1 sec. Ouch I need a break....
  12. You both got me! I took of this black panel once to remove the round cover to get access to the fuel pump ???? I guess the fuel tank is from the top down to about 18 inches ??? Ok just saw your picture Loren and thanks for cutting your car to prove a point but you did not have to If I am wrong delete everything so we do not confuse anyone Loren. Thanks
  13. Be very careful, it is the fuel tank!. The tank is big plastic container. (see pics) And I don't know how much space you got between the wall and the reservoir. Again be very careful....
  14. Deckman and I are in a need of a new alternator. After several parts catalog search (auto Atlanta and PET, Pelican) the only part number that i got is 997 603 012 00. But Deckman took his alternator off and the part# is 996.603.012.02. After other research on Ebay different alternator sellers I found out the 996 number is 120 amps and the 997 number is 150 amps... I check with Pelican and PET and the 996# seems to be for Carrera 1999-2004 and the 997 # for turbo manual 2001-2005.... Did they increase the amps ? May be Loren you can clarify? Thanks.

  16. Cannot open the video but check your steering pump reservoir level and also take a look at this TSB...
  17. Look at this TSB. Depend if it goes away after depressing the clutch.... Also take a look at your steering reservoir level....
  18. I also got the DME pins designation but cannot tell you if it is applicable for a 2001 model. But the pins number on the ecu for the cylinder 1 to 3 : C49 C50 and for the cylinder 4 to 6 C36 C37. On the ecu it is connector III Porsche ECU Pins.... copy - copie.pdf
  19. For the other part of your question, here's a copy of the OBDII manual . According to the OBDII manual it is related to wires, sensor or sensor loose on the engine....
  20. Can I help with this one.... DME location see pics. I cannot help you with the wiring since I only got the 2002 wiring diagram and on the 2002, the wires goes directly to the ECU from the knock sensors...
