  1. I'm just wondering if anyone has removed the adjacent oil mist separator? It is the larger black round object on the valve cover. I think it might be the source of a small vacuum leak just like the purge valve. Are there any serviceable parts in the separator?
  2. here's the proof, Hahn http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/24/porsche-recalls-20000-cayennes-for-loose-headlight-assemblies/ Tim in Ft Worth
  3. Be careful with sprays that clean brake parts especially if your calipers have the "Porsche" lettering on them. The spray will remove the stamped lettering. Tim in Ft Worth
  4. just wondering if the original poster Pakimunda found tires to be the trouble as well?? Stevie, what tires were you running and what was the mileage on them? Just curious!! Tim in Ft Worth
  5. Thanks to working4it I got the emergency stop gap release instruction in time to liberate my baby! I did tell him I would definitely do a followup so everyone would know what the problem was and how to fix it. So here goes...it was the latch surround in the upper compartment that was popping out and let the hinge pin drop out of place!! The surround is the little rectangular frame that holds the latch in place. A dab of glue behind this frame keeps it in place now and everthing went back together fine. I have pics but don't have a host url to post them. I might need a refresher tutorial on posting pics...I know I've done it in other posts here.
  6. Hi Everybody! I did a short forum search and did not find anyone with this trouble. I have also searched for pictures of an open lid but have not found one. Maybe you could post a pic of your open lid's latch mechanism? If you have a way to open the upper lid on the center console please let me know! I have tried slipping a metal ruler in there to make sure no papers are lodged in the latch, and it seems clear from what I can see by shining a light in there. Any ideas? My Glock is in there and I'm going to need it pretty soon!! Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Tim in Ft Worth
  7. Mr Dempsey replied as follows: Hi there. Thanks for contacting me. Group Buys rarely work out well for anyone involved, so we've avoided them in the past. When it's all said and done, the customers are typically not happy (takes forever to arrange the details), and the vendors end up doing a tremendous amount of work for lower revenues. Thanks, Wayne
  8. Here is Durametric's reply: Hello Tim, Thank you for your interest in Durametric. We appreciate your request, however we are unable to proceed with any group buys. We have received many requests for group buys over the years, but have never allowed them. The reason we don't allow group buys is because it has an immediate effect on our regional distributors and goes against partnership agreements. We understand that a group buy would be beneficial in many ways but unfortunately cannot take you up on the offer. If you have any further questions, please let us know. Owen Sutton Diagnose Technic
  9. Does anyone have any experience setting up group buys with folks like Pelican Parts or even directly with Durametric?
  10. I am wondering if you know of any discounts available for the Durametric Enthusiast version. My wife is wanting to buy it for my birthday!! Thanks in advance! Tim in Ft Worth
  11. I got this one too. I never got an answer either on which attorneys were "official". Anyone know? Tim in Ft Worth
  12. thanks kindly, Timmy! When you have time please draw an arrow indicating which parts you replaced on those pictures.

  13. Is this the "T" connector ? http://www.renntech....__1#entry167505 If so, yes, I had it replaced. Tim in Ft Worth
  14. Hey Timmy, any chance you can recall your source for those $5 parts? Please!! And maybe indicate on the pics which parts you replaced? Tim in Ft Worth
  15. A bit squirrely to say the least!! I was stranded on a set of P Zeros up in Angel Fire in October 2009 after a flash 14" overnight snowfall. Had to wait for the plow to clear the road; problem was no one knew we were up there! I don't see that happening again. You will love those tires! Tim in Ft Worth
  16. I received an email today from Michael Hewitt in San Francisco, claiming to be an attorney representing this issue. Is he part of your organized effort? Tim in Ft Worth
  17. Thanks, KP! it really is! I had it turboed back in '98 and it is my track/road car. We run down at Motorsport Ranch as often as possible. I had a red '72 240 I sold for way too cheap a few years back. I've had this '78 since March 1978. Can't even think about ever selling it! Tim in Ft Worth
  18. I would not. Would rather spend the $ on a higher profile WRC-style tire/wheel combo. Are you comfortable with hitting potholes with a 40 series (or whatever!) tire? Ignited
  19. I wanted to post an update regarding my purchase 1 year ago of the 275/45-19 Michelin Latitude Tour HP's. If you have been following the weather here in north Texas you know we got blasted the first of this week and many folks are just getting out today. We have fortunately been able to get out all week to go places we needed to go, like the hospital to bring my mother-in-law home. These tires are nothing short of amazing on ice and snow, and the Cayenne impresses everyone who rode in it this week! So if you are in town for the Big Game let me know and we'll go for a spin! Tim in Ft Worth
  20. welcome to the forum, ATL! What are you trying to do with your calipers? Buying pads?

  21. do you remember how you got PCNA to kick in $1000 for the coolant pipe repair?

  22. Here is a pdf of the letter I got. I realized later I may have a shot at getting my $$ back if I can find the receipt for the parts. Tim in Ft Worth
