  1. I personally changed my battery on 2005 997 Carrera with PCM 2.1 and it did not ask me for any code.. battery was removed for 10 minutes only..
  2. Could it be that the bumper was removed and replaced? Then this would make sense...
  3. 5w50 has been ok on my 993 and my 997 for a few years now...
  4. I would suggest to contact Porsche directly and have all the info available.. Invoices ,etc...
  5. I would say until gauges of oil and water reach normal working temps.. This is the safest way.. 1/3 mile is a relatively short distance especially in cold weather
  6. If you think its water, I would place the car in a hermetically closed space and have a dehumidifier work in for a couple of days.. Dont forget to open up all doors and hoods.. I know this is not the wisest think to do, however I would give it a shot before going to the dealer
  7. This is common with most commercial cars.. designed to protect you as was earlier suggested..
  8. Too bad Mike you had to go through this series of misadventures.. But its all worth it in the end. have a great time with your car.. I am sure it's worth it..
  9. Skibum, did you wax the car manually? or with a rotating waxer?
  10. To my knowledge Porsche offers extended warranties globally.. It is quite costly though 2000 USD/year if car is less than 8 years old.. covers everything mechanical and eletrical except parts that are wearable....ex clutch etc... I purchased one last year for this price for my 05' 997 ... I will not renew it though this year...
