  1. I'm not so sure it wouldn't. Loren would know best! I did see one on ebay just this week for a faily good price. Ebay link
  2. The quickest way to tell is to look at the valve stems. The solid wheels have rubber valve stems and the Hollow Spoke wheels have metal bolt in stems.
  3. Here is my 2002 C4S with a Getty Design Turbo spoiler. It really comes down to personal taste.
  4. Appears as if I lost my chrome cover to the headlight washer. Anyone know if you can get just the cover or do you have to order the entire assy?
  5. Definitely an improved look! Did you remove them to clean/polish?
  6. RFM, True, however the code itself will not clear until manually reset or the vehicle completes enough drive cycles after the fault is fixed or goes away. Unless of couse I have misunderstood somthing!
  7. Disconnecting the battery will not erase codes in the DME/ECU. You will need a code scanner to clear the memory. Also, I believe that California requires all readiness flags be set for the emissions check. If you reset the computer and then take the car in you will be failed and told to return when all readiness tests/flags are complete. Depending on your driving, this could take a day or two to complete.
  8. My guess would be a wheel lock! Look in your glove box or the tool set in the trunk for an adaptor to fit the bolt. One end of the adapter should fit your 19MM socket and the other end will match the splines on the wheel lock.
  9. +1. I get the same thing on my 02 C4S, dust, dirt etc.
  10. Tried a search but haven't found what I am looking for. Thinking about replacing the stock black gauge faces with the white or aluminum faces to match some of the aluminum interior trim pieces. I have seen prices range from 25.00 for adhesive overlays to 299.00 for white or silver replacement faces. Any reccomendations from someone who has already done this? More than capable of a DIY but want to make sure I buy a quality product and that it works well. And, does anyone have pictures of either the white or the aluminum? Would appreciate a PM or email with a good quality picture of both in a black interior if you have them. Any other thoughts or advice greatly appreciated. Tom
  11. How did you inspect it? If you parked the engine at TDC, pinned the motor and released the tension on the 3 chain tensioners then you should be good to go. If you just pull the cover without these steps you run the risk of the timing chains jumping timing. If you didn't notice any sounds or movement during the removal of the cover you may be ok but I would want to be 100 percent sure before I started the engine.
  12. Very Nice! B) I have 02 C4S in Artic Silver as well. Love the Hips! Nice background... YF-23?
  13. Nitrogen is an inert gas and therefore is inflammable. The weight difference between compressed air and nitrogen at normal atmospheric pressures is negligible for the purpose of this case.
  14. RFM is correct. M96 in mind. However, on other cars that have a horiz mounted filter I partially fill the filter to wet the cartridge. This helps the filter to fill faster. I also crank the engine a few seconds to prime the pump before I start the motor. Sorry for the confusion on the TT.
  15. Nothing in the service or owners manual to that effect but I always warm the engine up first to lubricate the engine then begin the draining and wait about 20 minutes for the oil to drain all the way doen. Then I prime the oil filter full of oil before I screw it onto the car. I then start the car and rarely do I ever hear the sound of a "dry" engine. Just my 2 cents worth!
  16. Post some pics when you get dome. We all would like to see your handiwork! Thanks GW B)
  17. Your water pump runs continuously when the engine is running. I would suggest you remove the belt and turn all of the pulleys/idlers by hand. See if you can feel any roughness etc. They should turn silky smooth. If you feel any binding or roughness then that is likely your culprit.
  18. they were taken in the fall,we get our share of cold and snow here in the northeast,i have a pick up i drive when the roads are wet and salty Like wise! Either the 4X4 Silverdo or my wifes AWD Highlander. Headed to Wash DC this afternoon, should be a nice drive... NOT!
  19. There are as many opinions on Anti-Freeze as there is oil! I recently flushed my system, replaced water pump, hoses etc. and used Porsche coolant. You can get it from Suncoast Porsche for $20 a gallon. While I have no doubt that other products work just as well I chose to use the OEM recommended coolant. As long as you don’t mix types you should be ok. However, if you didn’t buy the car new then you really have no way of knowing short of sending off a sample for analysis. And, at that cost, you might as well just replace the coolant. Hope this helps. B)
  20. Nice! Considering the east coast was just hammered with record snow your summer like pictures make me wish for warmer weather!
  21. While they may "work" you will suffer a loss of fidelity. The crossover is designed based on the inductance and capacitance of specific speakers. Changing the size and design of the speakers changes these characteristics considerably.
  22. Do you have a CEL? That tube is part of the EVAP system. The purge cycle should run once when you start the car cold but not continue to run. The pump should shut off once the system has purged and the system shows no EVAP leaks. If the pump continues to run then you have a leak and should also have a Check Engine Light. The vent tube that attaches to the gas cap well has a plastic clip that holds the tube in place. Check to see if that is cracked and vibrating.
