  1. Yes I have...it makes a huge difference, but the amount of difference is dependent on the weakest component. And so the modifications begin. With a freer flowing exhaust and a tune...quite nice!
  2. First welcome to Renntech. I would say to relax. First 131 is not very many considering...You have to realize that the number captured by the DME is the # of ignitions at that condition. So @7200 rpms=120 revs/sec...3 ignitions per rev (6 cylinders/2)...it would be difficult to measure by a chronometer. I do not know what a deal killer would be, but even 131 would be about 1/3 second in the over rev condition. You didn't provide the total hours on the clock, but by your post (1600) it seems the over revs occurred some time ago. Whether the dealer will disallow warranty work is completely dealer dependent. here is a good link Regarding your avatar, just create your own at the correct image size. Oops I see Maurice beat me to it....LOL
  3. I added CF parts (from MACarbon) and then did red leather accents, new steering wheel, red trimmed mats...pics are in my sig link.
  4. The On Board Computer will keep track of faults (measurements taken that are outside of the specifications) for a number of characteristics. Look at engine codes and fault text for more information.
  5. No the cable is the main component of the durametric "system"...it only works with their cable (the software can be downloaded for free essentially). Storing the codes is not a preference setting....the OBC will store codes as the arise...some will clear themselves after so many cycles if the error does not occur again, some can be cleared with battery disconnect, still others must be cleared by a code reader and then some by durametric (air bag for example) and then there are some that can be only cleared with Porsche diagnostic tools and others that not be cleared by any device (over revs for example). Some of the codes will be able to be understood by reading the Durametric manual, others can be deciphered here on RennTech. In any case if you post the codes here there will be plenty of us to help you understand them.
  6. Could be the fuse in the amp is bad. Disconnecting the battery will soft reset the system.
  7. The Durametric you would buy is specifically designed for Porsche. You need a laptop that runs windows (I have it on a Mac running parallels and it works fine). They send you the cable that simply plugs into the OBD port (under the dash to the left of the steering wheel (LHD)). There are a number of functions, but the manual is quite understandable and support is also good so I've heard. It will read, clear codes and do data logging. Best set-up for Porsche other than an actual Porsche tool (PST2, PIWIS).
  8. Yes, the diagnostics computer in your car will store the codes (which Durametric can read). Codes do not always trigger the idiot lights. JIC stands for Just In Case...FWIW.
  9. Well it is not likely the AWD...as the front barely gets any power until it needs it. So perhaps you are just not used to the power of a turbo? Of course you should always get the codes read JIC.
  10. I have the clutch package from Kevin (Ultimate)...sachs stage 2 GT3RS with LWFW....
  11. I have the FVD smaller diameter, thicker wheel and love it (leather/CF). Install was like 20 minutes.
  12. Uhhh....the yellow calipers are ceramic brakes which was already explained in the previous post.
  13. That just s*x....what color is it under the wrap? Hope it's not already chopped...
  14. The ROW cabs have this option. The US DOT dos not allow this. You can get the smartTop to activate this option.
  15. First ask your tuner. I for one use the Bosch FR6
  16. No you have a MOST stereo...the best option is Gateway 500 IMHO.
  17. Yes this is how it works...you could also hit the remote unlock after you open the door with the key.
  18. Battery may have been on its way out and if it died, it may not be brought back to life. I would get a new one....Check codes...next thing to check would be ignition switch.
  19. No experience or knowledge of the Schnell....I know EVO makes one and Tool Pants did a review years ago and basically found little difference...however if the stock one is busted, I see no reason as to why not replace with the"newer" style.
  20. Inspect the brake assembly...any debris? Are the rotors wearing evenly or are they warped?
  21. Drying the brakes with a blower is a great idea....there will still be some rust as it occurs instantly with exposure to water and air, but that will reduce it. I would also trust Orient on this as his car is a perfect specimen.
  22. Try a soft reset by disconnecting the battery..make sure you have your radio code....
