  1. I have gotten in to the habit of bringing my own (0W40 Mobil 1) oil for oil changes.
  2. Thank you for your replies. Yes, I did remove the SmartTop and have sent it back to Stefan (Wilhelmy). We don't yet know if it is the module, the top mechanism or an interaction of the two. I am not suggesting it is the module only that it has not been ruled out...and I hope it did not cause any electrical damage. (I love what the SmartTop does BTW). I have an appointment with the dealer and I just want to be somewhat informed as to what they might do. Fluid, motor, electronics, sensors, switch, (any others?), etc. I like to be informed about options before going to the dealer. I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks again!
  3. Some of the PS2s are N rated (mine are). I agree with kiko..I'm going to try the yokos next.
  4. Just looking for any ideas... I have an '04 996TT cab. I have had 3 instances where the roof failed to operate. I have the SmartTop Module installed. The first 2 instances I would hear a clicking sound in the back and the dash light would flash, but no movement. After letting the car sit for several hours and driving it the roof would all of a sudden start working again. The third instance...last weekend, the roof went part way up then stopped. I have checked fuses (4 of them), tried using the key to open, the dash switch. I removed the SmartTop module as well. Any ideas? TIA.
  5. Ah yes...thank you Loren. You are THE man! Any trick to removing the side panels to expose the mechanism?
  6. I have the DIY for seat belt removal from a previous post, it is for a coupe. I need the DIY for a cab. Maybe they are similar? TIA for your help.
  7. First..the most important component is the turbo...K24 hybrids will be your best bet. As far as the V-flow (I have it)...I have to say I think your "race shop" is wrong. The V-flow allows more air to flow through...check the EVOMs web site for tech info (http://www.evoms.com/porsche%20ec%20art%20test.htm). Also check out aluminum intake plenums.
  8. I was told by a couple of tuners you will not get much with aftermarket headers. Better off just porting the stock headers....something to do with the OEM headers having the optimal length.
  9. Biggest question is fit of the replica...even the real TechArt will take some minor tweeking to get it perfect. You may be in for some real "fun" with a replica and you might spend a lot to get it right.
  10. I would be so pissed...and I would not stand for that! They should get it fixed (like new) IMO.
  11. Eric, Are you the official Dension spokes-person...I've seen your post on 3 forums. BTW...thanks for the update!
  12. I'll try a couple of thoughts... first try resetting your key fob. This requires removing the battery, putting it in backwards for 15 seconds and then reinstalling it. It could need reprogramming by the dealer as well (does your second fob do the same thing?) Regarding the dvd/nav install...since you are replacing the stock stereo, I assume you realize you may have to replace all of the speakers, wires and amps (not sure about this, but have heard tales) CPO Porsches doesn't mean all that much...other than they will still honor most warranty issues.
  13. Yes it is and its translation is...manual...which means it is not in automatic mode any more (I'm the master of the obvious).
  14. You want OEM...no bluetooth. I would suggest going for a non-OEM that is bluetooth and iPod friendly.
  15. There is nothing made to date that will plug into a MOST system (which is what you have). Unfortunately the wireless FM mod is the only option for now.
  16. I can't remember...but It is either 30-35 lbs. or 60-65 lbs. per seat. either way you will be at least 60 lbs lighter!
  17. For mine, I had to bend the metal parts inside the socket in (to make the connection) and it worked fine then.
  18. Warranty for what? The dealer may not warranty your MAF with the new intake (although mine did), but it does not blanket void the warranty. With the ECU flash (you can get one that is able to be set back to stock and is virtually undetectable by the dealer) and intake...(and exhaust)...you will definately notice an increase in performance.
  19. I'm on the fence for going to stage 4...I did get the silicone hoses though and will get them in soon...let's see...Kevin's hybrids...maybe. :D
