  1. I love my Bentley manual. Porsche manuals mystify me at times. Maybe translations are just awkward. You can get Bentley thru this site's Amazon store for best price I've seen. And RennTech benefits.
  2. Same problem and same solution - so far. I tried to force the lens to rotate, but no luck.
  3. Welcome. :clapping: Boxster coupes are my second favorite cars. Look forward to seeing more posts.
  4. This guy has some interesting stuff. I have no personal knowledge, but his rating is good. http://stores.ebay.com/Europa-Auto-Parts
  5. An E would normally have MFI, not carbs. Sound like a good deal unless something is lurking about. Bruce Anderson rates a "so-so" example at $15,045, "good" at 17106 and "excellent" at 22900. Early 911 are appreciating. I'd care for it and enjoy it.
  6. I read (in Excellence, I think) that the V6 with 6 speed was a blast. No personal experience.
  7. Hmmmmm. 911 engine and limited slip. If only.... http://www.europeancarweb.com/features/070...sche_cayman_9ff
  8. DrColorchip is the name. I have no experience with them. Let us know if you try it. http://www.drcolorchip.com/
  9. I'd vote for the best touch-up you can get. I bought the pen, but haven't had to use it. There is another product being advertised that claims great results without blobs of paint. Maybe in Pano - I'm pretty sure in Excellence. There also have been several pieces written about application of filler an touch-up paint. Fine sand, retouch, finer sand, followed by rubbing compound, polish, elbow grease and wax. A whole-panel respray always makes serious buyers suspicious about why the panel was done. That said my body/paint man thinks it anathema to do less-than-perfect work. Guess it depends on what you can live with. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
  10. I agree. The other aspect is that a buyer will always suspect that there was a collision that prompted the respray. A proper job would cost more than you might lose on a trade or sell&buy.
  11. I just saw a new garage door switch with a garage door symbol. Looked stock, but some guy was selling it with a prewired remote. His eBay site is closed until July. Someone else opined that Suncoast had the switch. Here's the link: http://stores.ebay.com/Europa-Auto-Parts
  12. I'm retired, so "daily driver" is not daily for me. I voted to go for it. My concerns would be commute traffic and having a good, safe place to park to avoid :censored: parking lot rash etc. Other'n that maintenance and depreciation will come a bit sooner. 18k very happy miles a year!
  13. :clapping: Good find! Just wish they'd reversed the amount of desert driving with the twisty road time.
  14. :welcome: I'm not much for helping with your questions, but I'm sure somebody will chime in.
  15. Just put Lloyd RubberTite mats in both trunks of the Box. I'm extremely happy with the fit and quality. I reviewed them in the Review Forum. I bought the tan color to improve visibility in the black trunks.
  16. With a mid-engine as it should be! Only $760k could make one yours! http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti.../THISWEEKSISSUE
  17. Some insurance companies wave deductible for repair of small stars that have not spread. Does excellent repair w/o weakening the glass. 'Course if that rock was a boulder, I realize this is no help. Good luck.
  18. I'd definitely call it black in the garage. Put it in the sun and the metallic shines thru like anthracite trying to became a diamond.
  19. These are more expensive than those in earlier postings. http://www.ultimategarage.com/wheelhgr.html
  20. Nickz is correct. http://www.snopes.com/business/deals/porsche.asp
  21. I'm interested in why these things fail. Back in the day the Conventional Porsche Wisdom (CPW) was not to carry other keys or a heavy key chain with your ignition key. Thought was that it stressed the mechanical part of the switch leading to failure. I have not seen this surface as a possible cause, but cannot help but wonder....
  22. Check out Motive on this page. http://www.renntech.org/reviewpost/showcat...=all&page=2
  23. Any high end dealer should be able to give you a reliable guy. You can bet that they do not call a ham fisted dent maker twice. Many here use same guy.
  24. Mine does same thing. I just select center and footwell vents and that takes it out of auto.
