  1. How would one be able to stop a over rev from a downshift??
  2. I guess it all depends on if the top is up or down..........
  3. I always get a laugh at some of the questions that the net stirs up. I agree with what John V said.
  4. The clutch should be fine. Just change the slave cylinder and flush the complete system.
  5. Check the ground path. If you have a good known power supply and the remote trigger is working then confirm the ground.
  6. What was the problem before hand that is making you recalibrate the unit?
  7. I think you might have a problem with the intermediate shaft which operates the timing chains. Hopefully I'm wrong but get it towed to a dealer or good indy.
  8. One common problem is a oil leak at the camshaft end cap. It sits at the rear of the camshaft housing and when it leaks drips down onto the exhaust.
  9. Be very careful when cutting the accumulator open incase it is still holding a charge pressure of nitrogen.
  10. Where about in Canada? I know some of the laws in Saskatchewan. Did you purchase the vehicle as a private sale or through a dealer/import firm?
  11. If you can operate the pedal 100 times and feel no change I would say your accumulator isn't working at all. I understand the purpose of the accumulator is to provide a reserve of pressure when the engine is off to assist clutch operation.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't answer your question about the voice volume.
  13. Porsche uses a product called cosmoline-it's a type of undercoating and looks very dirty/brown.
  14. If you don't have the owners manual get one and give it a good read.... loads of cool stuff in there.
  15. Sorry but I would stick with Durametric. It can do more then just read OBD 2 data.
  16. Do you have a after market radio installed? The reason I ask is VW had a problem with after market radio wired incorrectly causing a communication error on the data link. Not sure if this applies to Porsche but just thought I would throw the idea out there.
  17. Hit the nail on the head. Just a question- did you washing the engine bay both time this has happened??
  18. Replacement is the only repair. If the dealer won't offer and help because of the low milage, search for a used part and get it fitted by an independent garage.
  19. Interesting. I have never had a pulley fail unless damaged from someone. Can you find the details of the failure please and post them here? I would also check the condition of the battery under load to see if it's on it's way out. P.S. Never use belt dressing. It causes a huge mess and never solves the problem of a noisy belt just covers up the problem for awhile.
  20. I also have used Durametric on 993's and never had a problem. As for the wiring harness it only affected the early 1995 production run and can be checked by looking at the production date on the wiring harness. The last harness I bought was only $120.00 CDN and a few hours to replace.
  21. How long was it in storage? Sometimes the clutch disc can seize to the input shaft and just driving the vehicle often cures the condition. I believe you have a clutch cable as the hydraulic clutch wasn't used until '86 I think.
